BRIDAL PORTRAIT WITH HER VEIL

We hope everyone enjoyed the beautiful weekend! Summer is here! On Friday, we photographed Kaeleigh and Greg's wedding. Kaeleigh looked stunning. She had some great portraits while getting ready.

They had their reception at Hotel at the Lafayette. They also got ready there. Here is a simple portrait of Kaeleigh. We pulled her veil over her face to create this gorgeous image. Her veil was nice and long, so it fell perfectly. I love how her hair is covering part of her face too. I think it is dramatic.

I only just started going through Kaeleigh and Greg's images. This will be one of many amazing images from their day!

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!

I just wanted to take a quick minute and say Happy Memorial Day! I know most people are probably still enjoying the long weekend with family and friends. I know this is one of the first times Neal and I are able to. After coming off of back to back weddings Friday and Saturday, with 2 amazing couples, we needed to relax and take a break.

We hope everyone enjoys and are enjoying their weekend! Happy Memorial Day!

KAELEIGH & GREG are GETTING MARRIED TODAY!

Yes, Kaeleigh and Greg are getting married today at St. John the Baptist Church, with a reception to follow at Hotel at the Lafayette!

We are so excited to photograph this amazing couple once again. You can tell by this image from their engagement session at the Cobblestone District, that they have a lot of laughs. These two had smiles like this the entire shoot. They laughed and had such a great time. That made our job so much easier. We hardly had to pose. We just had to document!

As you can see, this is an action shot. We had Kaeleigh and Greg take a stroll. We wanted to see their reactions, so we didn't give any direction on this one. This is also a way to make people comfortable having pictures taken. And I think we got great natural reactions on this!

Congratulations Kaeleigh and Greg!

TERRACE ROOM FIRST DANCE

Here is another image from Kristin and Jared's wedding at Statler City. Their reception was in the Terrace Room. This is my favorite room there. I love the giant windows and chandeliers.

Kristin and Jared were such a fun couple as well. Jared was such a joker and always had everyone laughing and smiling.

This was taken during their first dance. And you probably guessed right if you thought Neal took this. He sure did! He loves taking these wide shots. Their dance was at a great time too. There was some beautiful light coming in the windows. But, I like how you can still see all of the lighting inside. Once again, it gives a nice warm glow.

I love this shot!

STATLER CITY BRIDE

We had the pleasure of photographing Kristin and Jared's wedding over the weekend. Their ceremony and reception were at Statler City!

This was the first time we did a ceremony at the Statler. It was pretty cool. They held it on the 2nd level mezzanine. This was taken after the ceremony in the mezzanine! The family and wedding party dispersed to cocktail hour and I pulled Kristin aside to get this quick shot!

I loved the arches and chandeliers from this view. Kristin looked amazing framed in the arches with the giant chandelier behind her. I had Kristin pose to the side with her flowers and look down. Then I ran down the hall to take the shot. I really like the glow from the chandelier as it perectly frames Kristin.

Now, you may be wondering why I haven't mentioned Neal yet. This was the first wedding he assisted me on. Yes, assisting me! Neal didn't have a wedding of his own and we gave our other assistants the weekend off. We were running low on time after the ceremony so I asked him to start shooting the details in the reception room while I created this shot with Kristin!

Congratulations to Kristin and Jared!

WINDY WEDDING

Frank and Katie had their first look at Whirlpool State Park. From there we headed to the Niagara Gorge and Discovery Center. Katie had an amazing veil that did fly away a one point. But then one of her bridesmaids managed to get it securely locked in her hair.

We decided to try to some veil photos. We were hoping for the veil to cover both Frank and Katie. However, Katie had 2 veils in and when we pulled them over, they sort of split apart. At first Neal wanted to rearrange a bit. Then the wind kicked up and blew both veils to the side and created an open space between Frank and Katie. I loved it and said to try it out this way, since we can't control the wind.

In this case, what we had in or minds to begin with really didn't turn out. But with the help of the wind, the idea developed into something much prettier. I love how the veil leaves just a tiny bit of Katie's face exposed. We were still able to show off that gorgeous smile and get a beautiful image!

RUSTIC GROOM AND HIS GROOMSMEN

Adam and his groomsman. Don't the they look cool at the Genesee Country Village and Museum.

Sometimes we need to step back and say,"We need to show an image of the guys." Sorry ladies, they need some love and attention too.

This was a great background for the guys. Nice and rustic. Pretty manly. It was the Boot and Shoemaker Shop. We like the guys to feel comfortable and not dread taking photos. We are always looking for great locations that will make them feel this way. Also, we try not to be so posey. There are only so many ways to pose a guy. We always say, "If you are a hand in the pockets kind of guy, stand that way." "Maybe Captain Morgan style." Be yourself and how you normally would stand if you were hanging out. Then we'll take it from there. I think they did just that!

SHOE PORTRAIT!

Here is a lovely image of Katie and her Matron of Honor and also sister.

We had Katie's sister jump in and help her with her amazing shoes. Do we not love her shoes? I really love how this looks too. There was such great light coming in this room. I know there isn't much to say about this image because it is pretty simple. But, it is such a timeless image of Katie and her sister together.

The angle is nice as well. I love that little pop of pink from the chair Katie is sitting on. It pairs so good with her dress and skin tone. Then there is the green from the plant that adds a little more fun to the photo.

And those shoes again! I absolutely love them and they went perfect with Katie's dress. I think I need those!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY NEAL!

Today I want to wish a very Happy Anniversary to my husband Neal Urban! These past 4 years flew by. I can not believe all that we have accomplished together. We have experienced so many new things and are always continuing to have fun.

I know this is a blog about Neal Urban Studio photos but, I want to thank fellow photographer and friend Scott Jarvie for taking this photo for us. We were in Las Vegas for the annual WPPI Conference (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) and quite busy with classes and the expo. But we did manage to have Scott take our engagement photos around the Las Vegas Strip. We got all dressed up and did the shoot at about midnight. I will admit I was super tired and it was tough getting myself ready that late. Yeah I know it's Vegas. We had such a great time. I hope our clients have the same experience we did when we photograph them.

Neal,

You are always the positive one in our relationship. You keep us going strong and I do enough worrying for the both of us. We will embark on many new journeys this year. We will be taken to many new places for work this season. From a wedding in Alaska, to a wedding in Antigua, let's do what we do best. Let's create amazing memories for people. But at the same time, let's make sure to take time for ourselves during this crazy and exciting wedding season this year. I mean it haha!

I love you!

FUN TIMES AT DELAWARE PARK

Hi everyone! When I posted photos from Nick and Jill's engagement session a while back, I forgot to show this one! Their shoot, if you do not remember, was at Delaware Park.

I thought this was so playful. We always wonder what kind of reaction we are going to get when we do something like this. We saw a really pretty area of the park that had bright yellow flowers everywhere. It was actually the only area of the park that was in full bloom!

We had Nick lay down and Jill on top. Now, I know what you are thinking. Pretty kinky right? Don't worry parents. We normally zoom in pretty close to their faces on poses like this. Everyone seems to laugh and have such great reactions. As you can see from Nick and Jill, they were having a great time.

I love how there is color in the foreground and background. The green is so bold in front of them. Then the bright yellow adds such a happy feel to the already happy couple!
