Samoset Golf Course

Neal posted an image he took from Samoset Golf Course in Rockland Maine the other day on his Facebook page. It was so beautiful!

What Neal failed to mention is how he woke me up at 7:00am getting his camera ready. I had no idea he was planning on going out to the course in the morning. He got some great shots at sunset and through out the day. I couldn't believe he was going back out so early because he is not a morning person but he'll do anything to get a great shot! The curtains and doors were opening and closing. Once it was quiet, the door opened again. Neal had forgotten something he needed. Once he got where he needed to be for the shot he clicked the camera and noticed he left the battery in the hotel room. Luckily the lighting wasn't right so he got back just in time to get the shot. The sun peaked through the clouds for about 30 seconds. Neal got the shot and then the sun disappeared behind the clouds and then it started to rain.

Once he was done we both fell back asleep! When we both got up I said, "I hope you got a kick ass shot earlier!" He showed me what he took and I said he could wake me up any time to get images as amazing as that! I absolutely love the light house in the back ground and the couple walking out on the pier. Having the people in the image shows the scale of this place and makes you want to be there.

People do not always realize what it takes to get amazing images. They can happen at all hours of the day or night. And they can be in the best or worst of weather. Neal will take advantage of anything he can. I actually wouldn't mind this image in print!

MORE ACADIA NATIONAL PARK

This is the actual Jesup Trail in Acadia National Park. If you read yesterday's post you saw the beautiful image leading up to this trail.

I am not going to lie, I really like the path leading up a bit better. It's so crazy how we just turned a slight corner to get on the bridge for the trail and everything looked completely different. This image does not have as many colors and not as much light comes through the trees. It definitely had an eerie feel to it. It was very quiet. Almost too quiet! We were hoping for a moose to walk through, but no luck this time!

ACADIA NATIONAL PARK

Even though we are out and about working, we took a little side trip to Acadia National Park!

It was beauitful and very cold (no snow though)! On the drive down, we planned a few spots we knew we wanted to visit. Neal loves Birch Trees and this was the place to be to see thousands.

This was my favorite spot. It is on the way to Jesup Trail. I say on the way, because we haven't reached the actual trail yet. But isn't this just amazing? If only we had a bride to run through. Sorry, I didn't pack my wedding dress for this trip. I think that may be a staple travel item from now on!

The colors are just beautiful. The sun is hitting the right side and making the colors so vibrant. The sun is just kissing those trees on the left making them stand out. It was such a magical place to see. I can't wait to see this in a metal print that will be hanging in the studio some day in the near future!

KNOX FARM FAMILY SHOOT

Let's go back to Knox Farm for this amazing family shoot!

I love the composition of this image. Even though the family is small in the corner, it still looks pretty cool. Dad was raising up his little girl, while mom was behind him. The baby was having a great time too. She was laughing the whole time.

Neal decided to go far away for this and do a panoramic. I think it works out really nicely too. The colors in the sky were so great as well.

Does anyone else get a "Lion King" feel? I did!

FALL FOLIAGE ENGAGEMENT

Here is another image from Kate and Rob's engagement session.

Their shoot was done at a private residence that had over 70 acres of land. We sure found some great spots for photos. For this image, they were stand at the end of a bridge. Neal was shooting at a lower level straight on at the couple. This was my angle. I tried to get as high as I could and shoot through some trees. I am not tall, so it wasn't too easy. But, on my tippy toes, I got this one. I got the leaves to frame Kate and Rob and it turned out beautiful!

MEN OF THE HOUR

Look at these stunning guys! Here is another image from Kevin and Jeffrey's wedding.

This was taken at the Hotel at the Lafayette. This is one of the restaurant/lounges called Bourbon and Butter inside the hotel. It was actually closed when we were there, but Neal sweet talked the staff to letting us in for some photos.

Kevin and Jeffrey just look amazing! Once again they should be on a magazine or walking the runway. Even in this photo, we didn't need to pose them. They naturally fell into place! Neal just turned it black and white.

I apologize in advance, you will be seeing more of these guys soon. There are too many fantastic images to share!

A LITTLE GIRL AND HER TEDDY BEAR

All I can say is that this is just way too cute for words!

We had a family portrait session last week at Knox Farm. We also did photos to celebrate the babies first birthday! She was in her pink tutu and headband. Perfect for this cutie. We had her out in a field with an amazing sunset in the back ground. There was even a pink hue to the sky to tie everything in.

She was doing great out there. We decided to bring in her pink teddy bear to see what she would do. Mommy and daddy asked her to give hugs and she sure did. I love this image. She is absolutely adorable.

FALL ENGAGEMENT FUN

This image is from Kate and Rob's engagement session. They are getting married next year.

We had a beautiful location at a private residence for their shoot. The property was amazing. We ended the shoot down by a creek that had a giant rock along the side. There were family stories and meaning behind the rock and rest of the grounds, so this location was great for them. We had Rob have a seat and Kate fall into his arms. They were having so much fun with it too. There were a lot of smiles and laughs.

Fall photo shoots are always so pretty. You can see the colors on the leaves in the background and it just makes this image more beauitful.

Family PORTRAITS AT DELAWARE PARK

Delaware Park is the place to be for famiy portraits this season! There is so much to work with there.

Here is another session we did this past week. All I can say is "adorable!" Are we loving her outfit? I was in heaven with that fur vest and boots. There were even pink zippers on the backs of her boots! But to top it off, she had amazing blue eyes and a gorgeous smile.

In this image, we asked her to give hugs. She began to hug herself and this was her expression. She is just too cute for words and a beautiful little model!

END OF SESSION FUN

I thought this image was hysterical! We just finished up a family portrait session at Delaware Park and to reward the kids for a good job, we headed to the playground.

We did some fun images with the family enjoying themselves. They were having a great time. When I turned around I see Neal trying to work his way through the obstacle course toward the slide. Then he starts to go down the slide! My first thought was, "Do not drop the camera!!" Then I began taking pictures of him! Neal is such a big kid at heart!
