SHUTTING DOWN MAIN STREET IN PUERTO VALLARTA!

Welcome to Puerto Vallarta Mexico! The destination where Joe and Silvia got married!

This had to be the hardest shot we have ever tried to get. Joe and Silvia got married at Parroquia de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe church. It was right in the middle of downtown Puerto Vallarta. Puerto Vallarta is crazy busy with people, buses, taxis, and a lot of traffic. The driving is pretty dangerous. Everyone drives fast and cuts each other off down the narrow, cobblestone roads. And yes, Neal wanted Joe and Silvia in the busiest street! Main street at 4:45pm on a busy Saturday afternoon. Not only did he want the Bride and Groom in middle of the street but he wanted the vintage taxi cab that they had rented to park diagonally and block traffic!

Why this location? The day before the wedding while we were on our way to shoot the rehearsal Neal saw this street. It was the only street in the city where there was a canopy of tree's and beautiful light came in from the side street. The tree canopy helps frame the image as well as adding texture. Knowing that we were going to shoot at this location it helped Neal come up with an idea of what exactly he wanted to do so he was prepared to communicate with everyone on the day of.

Immediately after the ceremony we walked "one block down and two blocks over" - that's how we remembered where this street was. We showed Joe and Silvia the pose on the side of the road, so they knew exactly what to do when they got to the street. During this time, a bus cut the corner and almost hit Joe and Silvia! Thank God one of the groomsmen saw it in advance and pushed them out of the way. Wow! Silvia didn't seem surprised or shaken up, she said that drivers don't care! At this point we almost aborted the mission but instead we kept on task and it made everyone a little more aware and careful.

Neal also had to get the taxi to park a certain way across the road too. The driver didn't really understand English either, and we didn't speak much spanish, so Neal had a very difficult time getting his point across to the driver. The driver kept making fun of Neal for speaking "Spanglish" but he tried his best! After a few attempts the driver got the cars position perfect.

Now, looking at the photo, you wonder where all those crazy drivers are? Well, we would never put the couple in harms way. But we sure do it to ourselves! Neal was shooting from down the road, not being able to see cars turning the corner. And I was holding lights in the intersection. With the help of some groomsmen standing in the road to try and slow traffic, this amazing image was captured! It was a true team effort by everyone involved and they all should be proud of their effort to make this image possible.

Neal created a pose for Joe and Silvia and it's stunning. It looks like Joe is trying to lead Silvia in a Spanish dance and it matched the area perfectly. It makes complete sense here as if he's leading her away from the taxi in a romantic kind of way. The way they are looking at each other is just beautiful too! The arch of trees over them is so pretty. I love how some of the locals on the right side are in the background peaking outside of the stores. This image looks so peaceful that you wouldn't think everything around this scene was crazy and chaotic! Everything is just so perfect!

Thank you Silvia and Joe for having us be there to capture your beautiful wedding event in Peurto Vallarta! And another thank you to the wedding party for all of the help!

This is just one great image that Neal got to edit while we were delayed at the airport. Many more to come!

FAIRYTALES DO EXIST

Here is the last shot of the night for Gus and Balon's wedding! It is absolutely magical!

They got married at Holiday Valley Resort in Ellicottville in September. It was the perfect fall day outside. There were so many different places to take photos. This was the perfect spot to end the night. The lighting was so pretty as well. We had Gus and Balon look at each other and the background and scenery brought it all together. I love the stone bridge in the background. I also love how there is so much detail in the image as well. Being night, you would think it would be really dark. But it was like a fairytale!

HOME SWEET HOME

Lindsay and Adam had their engagement session in their hometown of Brockport. They are new home owners and wanted to start their photos there.

They have an old and giant home with amazing woodwork that you just do not see often. A beautiful wooden stairway as well. We had them sit in one room and shoot through the door, almost spying on them. Not many homes are set up like this anymore. Adam and Lindsay were just chatting away and had some great laughs!

MOTHER AND DAUGHTER MOMENT

Balon and Gus had a beautiful fall wedding at Holiday Valley Resort in Ellicottville!

The best lighting was coming in the room where Balon was getting ready. She had her mother helping her. Her mom came in to help put on her veil. There was no posing involved either. Balon and her mother had a wonderful connection. There were a lot of happy tears and smiles. She looked back at her mother and it was just timeless. It was a moment they will always remember and we were so happy to capture the day!

FAMILY FUN AT GLEN FALLS

We recently did a family portrait session at Glen Falls. It was the perfect fall day. The temperature felt like spring!

Aren't these two just adorable? She loved being the big sister, she wanted to hold her baby brother! At least she made a good attempt at it! haha! We had mommy and daddy being silly behind us while taking the photos. We got a great laugh and smile. I thought this was really funny but also very cute that I just had to share.

It is not super easy getting kids to look at the camera, let alone two. But some of the best images can be those moments in between!

SUNSET BY THE WATER

Laura and Dan are back! Sunset in Lewiston!

It was just starting to get chilly out and we knew we needed work fast. The sun was setting and the colors were amazing. We put Laura and Dan on a wooden walkway facing the water and let the magic happen. They interacted with one another so well, it was perfect. With some added light on their faces, we got this beautiful image.

PUDDLE REFLECTIONS

Here is another image from Tiffany and Colin's engagement shoot at Knox Farm.

The weather was amazing and the couple was awesome! We were bound to get fantastic images. Knox Farm is huge. There is always a lot of walking involved when shooting here, but there are so many places to take advantage of. While walking around, we saw this giant puddle and the entire sky was reflecting in it. We knew we had to stop. Tiffany and Colin looked at each other and that was it!

I love this image!

A WALK IN THE PARK

Kristi and Adam had a rainy and cold wedding day. But that did not stop them from wanting to go outside for photos!

The ceremony, photos, and reception were at Park Country Club. It is a beautiful venue. For their pictures, we sent the wedding party away, hopped in some golf carts, and took photos around the golf course. I love this image. They are just taking a stroll down one of the fairways. I love how the wind is picking up Kristi's dress. And an added bonus, her dress had pockets! How cool is that? I really like how she has her one hand in her pocket while walking. Very casual. Kristi and Adam were talking and laughing and we got great reactions from them.

SUNSET AT KNOX FARM

Tiffany and Colin had an amazing engagement shoot and Knox Farm! They had beautiful weather, followed by an amazing sunset.

This was the last shot of the night! The sun was setting and there were puffy clouds everywhere. Not 100% white and puffy clouds, but that did not matter. They definitely made the image more dramatic. It was time to get down on the ground in the mud to get this shot. It was so worth it.

Tiffany and Colin were so much fun to photograph. They had us laughing the entire time. I cannot wait to photograph their wedding next year. It is going to be a blast!

PARK COUNTRY CLUB

Here is another image from Kristi and Adam's wedding! This was done in the main entrance to Park Country Club.

Park is a beautiful country club. If you do not know what it looks like, check it out online. It looks like a castle. It was raining again when we took Kristi and Adam out for their final photo shoot. Instead of going right to the golf course, we decided to use the building. We put Kristi and Adam in the entryway where valet is located. The whole area is lit up so it was perfect They were framed in from the underpass.

I love this image because it uses the actual building and not the golf course. They have a beautiful course as well. It was great to give them amazing contrast!
