END OF THE NIGHT AT BROOKFIELD COUNTRY CLUB

One last image (for now) from Kathy and David's December wedding at Brookfield Country Club!

End of the night. The Club patio was all lit up and decorated for Christmas. This was probably the only Christmasy style of photo we did for Kathy and David. I say Christmasy because of the lights. But, how could we not take advantage of those lights? The sky was so dark, the glow from the lights was just too beautiful.

Kathy had this gorgeous black fur that we hadn't got to use yet for a photo. I know you can't see it too much, but it was just enough for this shot. And Kathy needed to stay warm.

I love how the intimate feel Kathy and David wanted, flowed from beginning to end! This was a great way to end the night.

PARK COUNTRY CLUB WEDDING

Tiffany and Colin are married! They had their ceremony at Our Lady of Victory Basilica and their reception at Park Country Club.

End of the night! Park Country Club is gorgeous. But, I especially love it at night all lit up. Look at Tiffany and Colin. There is such an amazing connection between them. From our first meeting, to engagement photos, and wedding day, there was so much love and fun.

You cannot go wrong with an outdoor photo at Park Country Club. It looks like a castle. It is even better with an amazing bride and groom. And with an intimate prom pose. Yes, the prom pose is back and better than ever!

Neal and I had so much fun photographing Tiffany and Colin's wedding. There are so many amazing images, it is hard to choose for sneak peaks and the blog.

LIGHTS, CAMERAS, PAPARAZZI!!

Happy Halloween! Hope everyone had a safe and fun weekend! Today we bring you this fun image from Chris and Christine's wedding at Hotel at the Lafayette!

How cool is this? We always love to come up with creative images with the wedding party. Neal has had this idea for a while, but we needed the perfect wedding party to make it happen. Everyone was so nice and helpful throughout the whole day. Early in the day we told the wedding party we had an idea for later in the night and that they needed their phones. Everyone was all for it.

It was time to create a red carpet feel with Chris and Christine. We had the wedding party join us outside and bring their phones. Time to flip on those flash lights and put the lovely newlyweds in the spotlight. The wedding party was amazing! They were yelling and cheering. Some were even singing! All Chris and Christine had to do was hang out in the middle and focus on each other!

I wish I could say this was a super easy shot. It was and it wasn't. Did I mention it was pouring outside? That left Neal, our lovely helper Vanessa (you all know Vanessa from the Disney Castle photo. Her hubby was a groomsman), and I out in the rain under umbrellas. Keeping the gear from getting soaked was a must. Some of the lights were covered by plastic bags we borrowed from the candy station! The wind didn't help much with that either. It looks like this image was lit by all of the phones but it was really lit by three of our lights. Thankfully, everyone was very cooperative for this image. Once we got the shot it was hard to tell them to go back inside! We reminded them that they had a dancefloor to fill back up and they were back to partying hard for the rest of the night!

Chris and Christine looked movie rock stars just like their engagement shoot and will sign autographs if you see them!

END OF THE NIGHT AT TONAWANDA CASTLE

Oh the end of the night at Tonawanda Castle! We had a slight delay for photos at the end of the night for Laura and Ian. The lights on the stairway were not going on and I needed them in the background for photos. Apparently, something funny was going on with the timer. Thank you to the amazing staff, they got them right in time when Laura and Ian came out for pictures.

As you can see, I didn't want the entire Castle in the shot. Just a small part to know what the building was. I was more concerned with having the lights glowing behind them. I wanted to create a nice glow around Laura and Ian. I had Alyssa add some extra light to their faces and that was it!

Laura and Ian were having an amazing moment together. It was the first time at the reception they had a few minutes alone as newlyweds! What a great way to end the night.

END OF THE NIGHT FUN!

Frank and Katie got married over the weekend at the Conference and Event Center in Niagara Falls. This was taken at the end of the night.

We bring this photo to you, not from the Events Center, but, from the Sheraton at the Falls Hotel. Since it is right next door, Neal snuck in to check out the Hotel for something fun for pictures. He stumbled upon this in one of the hallways. I think it resembles something you would see in a Las Vegas hotel.

We had Frank and Katie stand in front of the fixture (well let's face it. It's a hallway of balls). Anyways... It looked awesome in the background. Also, if you look really close, you can see reflections in them as well. They were having such a great time. They were laughing and enjoying being together away from their reception for a few minutes. Sometimes, you just need that time to enjoy being newly married without crowds of people around you.

It was a great way to end the night! Congratulations Frank and Katie!

END OF THE NIGHT IN THE GARDENS

Like I mentioned before, Lindsay and Adam had such a great wedding venue at the Genesee Country Village and Museum. This was another image from the end of the night.

This was taken at the Livingston-Backus Garden! Now, I know there aren't any leaves or greenery (and it's dark), but the vines looked so pretty intertwined through the pergola. There were actually fruit tress, wisteria, roses, and iris planted in the area. I can only imagine the colors that are going to pop up soon.

That is one of the reasons we waited to shoot this location at night. We had Lindsay and Adam stand in the pergola and look toward each other. We had a light placed behind them. I was hiding behind one of the pillars lighting their faces, while Neal was shooting down the way.

I love when we end the night with beautiful images. We are always trying to find something creative at the end of the night. We want to make sure it is worth stealing the Bride and Groom from their party really quick. It also gives them a nice break from their guests and to be alone for a short time!

GENESEE COUNTRY VILLAGE AND MUSEUM WEDDING

Congratulations Lindsay and Adam! They got married over the weekend! They had an awesome venue! Their reception was at the Genesee Country Village and Museum. What a cool location. Everyone has probably visited there during their grade school days on a field trip. I know we did!

The Village actually does not open until next week to the public. So, Lindsay and Adam's guests had the run of the entire property. That was great for us as well. We could go anywhere on the grounds and not have to worry about crowds of people being around.

This was taken at the end of the night at the Hamilton House. We loved this Victorian style home. I wish I could live there! For this image, Neal wanted to capture the entire house. That is why Lindsay and Adam are outside of the gate. We added our own lighting hidden behind the bushes to light up the house. I was helping to add some light on their faces. It was chilly out, so Lindsay and Adam got really close and cuddled up for warmth. Perfect!

Now, I wish I could say that this ended the night 100%. Photography wise yes!! Tammy, a lovely staff member was in charge of driving guests on the grounds in a golf cart that night. We had asked her if she could take us out to the Hamilton House for that last shot. As we were getting back into the cart, she got a radio call, that one of the oxen, Dan, had gotten loose. She needed to help round him up. This was a first! We headed over the Dan, and let me just say, he was giant. He had massive pointy horns as well. Now, we are all sitting in a large golf cart that has no sides. Lindsay, Adam, and I were pretty much exposed. Neal was riding up front with Tammy safely behind a plexiglass window.  Tammy was slowly driving at Dan to push him back to his home. It was a little scary.

Then this happened! Dan decided to peek his head into another of the workers cars. Oh no! We had to get a photo! Long story short (too late haha), we needed to get Lindsay and Adam back to their party! We had to leave the herding back to the staff at the Genesse Country Village and Museum.

What a different story to leave with! But, we got to end the night with the beautiful image of Lindsay and Adam!

SNOWY END TO THE NIGHT AT THE COLUMNS

I know everyone has been out and about enjoying the last few days of warmth and sunshine! Today I am bringing back some snow. I know what you are thinking. Is she crazy? But, I love this image Neal took of Allison and Dan in the beginning of April at the Columns Banquet Facility.

The day started off good. Just a little chilly. But come dinner time, a blizzard was in full effect. It continued into the late evening as well. Being photographers, we like the challenge to attack the storm. This was taken at the end of the night. Part of the grounds at the Columns had trees with twinkle lights on them. Those are always great for a back drop. Especially if it's raining or snowing.

Neal asked Allison and Dan to snuggle up really close to stay warm. He used the twinkle lights as a "bokeh" ("the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light"). He did need to use and extra light behind the couple as well as some fill light on their faces.

Even though I was not present at this wedding, I could still write about this image. Neal gave me the back story of the image, but I could pretty much tell what he had in mind because we do this as a team so often... At this point in the night Neal sent Adelle (his assistant) home and he did all of the lighting in the snow by himself!

WEDDING AT THE MANSION ON DELAWARE

I am back this morning! Before we headed outside in the snow, Sarah and Aaron requested we do some photos inside the Mansion on Delaware!

The front rooms in the Mansion are beautiful both day and night. During the day, the light pours in the giant windows. At night, they light up from the street lights outside. Tonight, this room looked amazing with the snow falling.

Shane and I moved a little bit of the furniture, but kept the chairs and small table behind them. We also chose to keep the tree on the table. It looked great in the back ground. And it was super heavy to move. Now all we needed was a little extra light on Sarah and Aaron's faces. Shane was actually hiding in the corner with a light.

Then they leaned in and had a kiss!

PEARL STREET WEDDING FUN

Katie and Chad had a fun wedding reception at Pearl Street. The party was going strong, but they wanted to take a breather and get away for a few minutes. They asked if we were ready to do some photos!

Neal already had this idea in his head. He had scouted out the game area at Pearl Street. Katie and Chad loved the idea! When they walked into the room, everyone clapped and congratulated them. This floor was open to the public, so it was awesome to see!

We wanted Chad to actually play some pool in the back ground. The thing about Chad, was he was laughing so much and having a great time, that we couldn’t get a serious face. We wanted him to concentrate on making the shot. It was so much fun, that his tiny grin would work fine. Katie just kept looking ahead smiling wondering what was going on behind her.

It was such a great time with Katie and Chad for this image. We were so happy they enjoyed themselves as much as we did!
