My humans are getting married!

Sorry for the delay folks. We have had some technical difficulties over the past few days. However, Save the Date for Laura and Dan (and Moscsato)!

Laura and Dan had their engagement shoot around the Lewiston area. They brought their adorable dog Moscato to be a part of the photos. She was awesome and loved the camera! Treats worked well too! I love her little sign shaped like a bone with Laura and Dan's wedding date on it.

Laura and Dan were standing behind a bench with Moscato sitting on it. We had Laura and Dan try to ignore their dog and have a moment between themselves. We would get Moscato's attention. It was great! She looked right at the camera without us bribing her with treats.

Laura, Dan, and Moscato were so much fun to work with. We can't wait until next year to photograph their wedding!

VILLAGE BAKE SHOPPE FUN

Welcome to the Village Bake Shoppe in Lewiston! Laura and Dan began their engagement shoot at the shop!

Laura and Dan are friends of the owner, so we got the run of the shop for photos. It was so much fun and smelled absolutely delicious! We had Dan behind the counter and Laura in front acting as though she was ordering. Don' they have the perfect outfits? I felt like we were in a small diner!

There were a group of regular customers enjoying coffee and dessert watching the shoot. Laura and Dan had their own audience. The customers comments of "ooh's and ahh's" only added to the joy and fun of the shoot!

Thank you Mike and Lindsay Fiore for letting us use the Village Bake Shoppe for this lovely couples' photos.

HORSE PHOTO BOMB!

So one more from Caitlyn and Adam's wedding at Vernon Downs and Casino. This was taken by Leah!

She got an awesome shot. The horse is totally photo bombing! The horse looks so funny popping over the fence. Caitlyn and Adam had no idea the horse was coming up behind them like that either. I had them posing where I needed them to be. I really wasn't sure what angle Leah was at, but she definitely got a fun image. I love this!

All Leah and I wanted was a shot with the horses. It was not as easy as you would think with all the rules. But I am so happy we got what we needed. And then got to have some fun images like this!

HARNESS RACING!

Back to Vernon Downs and Casino in Syracuse for Caitlyn and Adam's wedding! We did need to get a few shots with the race track in the back ground.

There were actual harness races going on during the wedding. We had a lot of rules when it came to this. There were only certain areas we could be in and no flash photography. Luckily this shot was taken while the horses and jockeys were warming up. Our goal was to get at least a few shots with the horses!

I think we did good here. We were finishing up our photo session and heading in for the ceremony, when the horses were turning the track and heading closer to us. I had Caitlyn and Adam pretty much run to get the horses in the shot. You can see they really aren't posed. There was no time! Adam didn't even have enough time to put his suit coat down! It sure was fun with us all running to get this. Good thing we didn't scare the horses on the way!

During the reception, Caitlyn and Adam placed multiple bets on Race 9 and passed out the tickets to all of their guests. Who ever had the winning ticket, won the money that was placed for the bet. It was such a fun idea! Leah and I did not win :(

Happy Reflections

Happy Monday! I hope everyone has had their morning coffee and are ready for the day! This is from Caitlyn and Adam's wedding! I traveled to Vernon Downs and Casino in Syracuse to shoot this wedding. Leah made the trip with me to assist!

Caitlyn and Adam were so much fun! They had amazing personalities and were up for anything. When most people go to Vernon Downs, they are concentrating on the harness racing. There is a beautiful race track. We didn't want that to be the main focus of all the photos. We definitely wanted to give them a variety.

While walking the grounds the day before, Leah and I found this cool glass walkway that connected the hotel to the grand stands. Perfect for some reflections! This was taken at the end of the night. I had Caitlyn and Adam stand side by side and hold hands. The walkway was lit up enough on it's own that I could catch their reflections on both sides. It was a fun way to end the night before our drive back to Buffalo!

DANCING IN THE RAIN

We had a rainy day for Elizabeth and John's wedding, but we still toughed it out doing photos outside! And they turned out awesome!

We went to Niagara University for photos. Whenever Elizabeth picked her dressed up she had a great strut to her walk. The dress bounced after every step she took and had a great flow to it. So Neal had her keep it going and dance around John while he held the umbrella. Everything was in motion and not really posed. I love how her dress looks in this and how you can still see her profile! She really had a lot of fun with this.

The rain makes the shot a little more fun too! Instead of "Singing in the Rain" she is "Dancing in the Rain."

Beautiful light is all you need!

Elizabeth and John are married! They got married in September!

Elizabeth had a great empty room in their house to get ready in. We love blank walls! It was a rainy day, but there was still nice light coming through the windows.

After Elizabeth was in her dress and ready, we took her veil and pulled it over her face. I love when we do this. I think the images turn out so beautiful. Elizabeth looks stunning. All we had her do was slightly look down. Sometimes a blank wall plus beautiful light is all you need!

Samoset Golf Course

Neal posted an image he took from Samoset Golf Course in Rockland Maine the other day on his Facebook page. It was so beautiful!

What Neal failed to mention is how he woke me up at 7:00am getting his camera ready. I had no idea he was planning on going out to the course in the morning. He got some great shots at sunset and through out the day. I couldn't believe he was going back out so early because he is not a morning person but he'll do anything to get a great shot! The curtains and doors were opening and closing. Once it was quiet, the door opened again. Neal had forgotten something he needed. Once he got where he needed to be for the shot he clicked the camera and noticed he left the battery in the hotel room. Luckily the lighting wasn't right so he got back just in time to get the shot. The sun peaked through the clouds for about 30 seconds. Neal got the shot and then the sun disappeared behind the clouds and then it started to rain.

Once he was done we both fell back asleep! When we both got up I said, "I hope you got a kick ass shot earlier!" He showed me what he took and I said he could wake me up any time to get images as amazing as that! I absolutely love the light house in the back ground and the couple walking out on the pier. Having the people in the image shows the scale of this place and makes you want to be there.

People do not always realize what it takes to get amazing images. They can happen at all hours of the day or night. And they can be in the best or worst of weather. Neal will take advantage of anything he can. I actually wouldn't mind this image in print!

MORE ACADIA NATIONAL PARK

This is the actual Jesup Trail in Acadia National Park. If you read yesterday's post you saw the beautiful image leading up to this trail.

I am not going to lie, I really like the path leading up a bit better. It's so crazy how we just turned a slight corner to get on the bridge for the trail and everything looked completely different. This image does not have as many colors and not as much light comes through the trees. It definitely had an eerie feel to it. It was very quiet. Almost too quiet! We were hoping for a moose to walk through, but no luck this time!

ACADIA NATIONAL PARK

Even though we are out and about working, we took a little side trip to Acadia National Park!

It was beauitful and very cold (no snow though)! On the drive down, we planned a few spots we knew we wanted to visit. Neal loves Birch Trees and this was the place to be to see thousands.

This was my favorite spot. It is on the way to Jesup Trail. I say on the way, because we haven't reached the actual trail yet. But isn't this just amazing? If only we had a bride to run through. Sorry, I didn't pack my wedding dress for this trip. I think that may be a staple travel item from now on!

The colors are just beautiful. The sun is hitting the right side and making the colors so vibrant. The sun is just kissing those trees on the left making them stand out. It was such a magical place to see. I can't wait to see this in a metal print that will be hanging in the studio some day in the near future!
