My humans are getting married!

Sorry for the delay folks. We have had some technical difficulties over the past few days. However, Save the Date for Laura and Dan (and Moscsato)!

Laura and Dan had their engagement shoot around the Lewiston area. They brought their adorable dog Moscato to be a part of the photos. She was awesome and loved the camera! Treats worked well too! I love her little sign shaped like a bone with Laura and Dan's wedding date on it.

Laura and Dan were standing behind a bench with Moscato sitting on it. We had Laura and Dan try to ignore their dog and have a moment between themselves. We would get Moscato's attention. It was great! She looked right at the camera without us bribing her with treats.

Laura, Dan, and Moscato were so much fun to work with. We can't wait until next year to photograph their wedding!

SAVE THE DATE WITH BOOMER!

Happy Wedding Day Gus and Balon! I just had to post one more image from their engagement session at Knox Farm!

They brought in a board with their date on it and wanted something they could send out for their save the dates. I think they made out pretty good with this shot! Gus and Balon brought their giant dog, Boomer! We loved him! We had them have a seat and had their dog sit in between them. They hung their date board around Boomer and now it was our turn to get his attention. He loved the camera! We got a ton of great images, but this was the keeper!

Congratulations Gus and Balon!

All eyes on Lola the dog!

Here is another image from Chris and Christine's engagement session at Niagara Square.

They brought their dog Lola! She was so cute. I was getting so distracted wanting to play with her. We had Chris and Christine sit on a stone bench. She draped her legs over his. Then we brought in Lola. We told them not to worry about the dog and we'll see what she does. Christine's sister was with us as well with treats for Lola. Once the treat bag was out, Lola was smiling right at us. She really does look like she has a big smile.

I love when people bring their dogs! They can be so much fun to work with and add so much excitement to a shoot!

Engagement with Boomer the dog!

We love when couples bring their dogs on engagement shoots. Dogs can be so unpredictable. It is always so much fun to see what they will do!

The photo shoot was at Knox Farm in East Aurora. The couple mentioned they would like to have their dog in some photos. We all met in the parking lot and when the dog got out of the car, we couldn’t believe our eyes. He was huge! We knew this was going to be fun! We always like to get acquainted with pets before we start shooting. What a lovable dog this was too. We just wanted to play with him.

The dog was actually pretty calm to work with. In this image, the dog was taking a break by a bench and we asked if he would be able to get up onto in. They said no problem. The dog was so big I didn’t think he would fit on the bench, but he got up there no problem. I was trying to get the attention of the dog while Neal was shooting. He just wanted to play and lick his owners’ faces. Once he heard the clicking of the camera, he looked our way. He was zoned in. He looked so happy with his tongue hanging out. Perfect! Just a nice simple family portrait.

When photographing dogs (or any animal with people), you have to see what they are going to do first. Then you place the couple in with the dog. It’s always good to have the pet owners have another person accompany them on their shoot to take the dog away when we are finished with them. Or, if the dog looks like they need a break. If you can remember, find out what kind of treats they like as well. Treats and squeaky toys work wonders!
