GOTHAM CITY BRIDE & GROOM PART 2

We are back with part 2 of Jill and Matthew's wedding at this amazing building!

As you saw yesterday, if you joined us, Neal absolutely loves this building. And we have never had the opportunity to use it for a wedding. Jill and Matthew fit this style perfectly!

During their reception at Pearl St. Grill and Brewery, we took Jill and Matthew out for some photos. Neal had already scoped out the area and knew exactly where he wanted to go. It was just a little walk from Pearl St.

This image is in the same series you saw yesterday. Same set up and same location. It is just closer up on Jill and Matthew. You still get the awesome feel of the building too! This is one thing I love about certain locations. You can create so many different looks in the same area. This was definitely one of those times!

GOTHAM CITY BRIDE & GROOM

I love this image from Jill and Matthew's wedding! They got married and had their reception at Pearl St. Grill and Brewery.

This building is one that Neal has always wanted to shoot at. He thought it looked like something from the Batman Movies. When we choose our locations we want to make sure that the style fits the couple. Well, we finally found the couple who has the style that fits this building. We took some nature photos earlier in the day so it was nice to mix things up and give the couple some contrast.

While we were walking around the block from Pearl Street Neal was trying to describe the building as if it's from Gotham City and Jill says, I love Batman! Matthew got excited as well. I love when everyone is on the same page as if it was meant to be!

I really like the angle of this shot too. Neal captured Jill and Matthew, as well as the building, perfectly. We chose this pose to show the back of Jill's dress, it was so beautiful and unique that we had to show it off in a shot. Matthew looks like he could pass for Bruce Wayne here, I love the suspenders! Jill and Matthew were having so much fun. At one point, I don't think they remembered we were taking photos either!

They were so in the moment and so into each other! I love when couples forget that we are documenting and capture real moments. This was a great way to end the day, we got them back to Pearl Street in no time and they partied the night away!

Tomorrow's photo will be another photo from this series where it's upclose and intimate with beautiful expressions. We had to show this photo first though!

See you tomorrow!

THREE LOOKS, ONE LOCATION

Gorgeous Jill!

Jill and Matthew got married a few weeks ago at Pearl Street Grill and Brewery. They also got ready at Pearl at the Webb Hotel. The hotel has amazing rooms for photos. The lighting and textures are great.

For this, we decided to show a series of three images. Jill is sitting on the window ledge and Neal had her do three different looks! Even though Jill never moved her body, each photo is different. And stunning!

When there is great lighting at a location, it is better to take advantage and stay there. You can do so many different simple poses in a short amount of time as well! I can't wait to see this series of images in their wedding album!

THE GUYS AT SILO CITY

After working with Michaela and the ladies at Kleinhans Music Hall, the wedding party headed down to Silo City. This was the perfect place for Aaron and his guys.

Aaron is a big fan of the industrial look. What better than railroad tracks and graffiti! This reminds me of an album cover. They all have that cool, but casual look. And so serious (even though, I think the groomsman on the right is smiling). But it still has a manly feel.

Neal said the guys loved this place. And I hear the ladies did as well! Awesome photo!

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!

I just wanted to take a quick minute and say Happy Memorial Day! I know most people are probably still enjoying the long weekend with family and friends. I know this is one of the first times Neal and I are able to. After coming off of back to back weddings Friday and Saturday, with 2 amazing couples, we needed to relax and take a break.

We hope everyone enjoys and are enjoying their weekend! Happy Memorial Day!

RUSTIC GROOM AND HIS GROOMSMEN

Adam and his groomsman. Don't the they look cool at the Genesee Country Village and Museum.

Sometimes we need to step back and say,"We need to show an image of the guys." Sorry ladies, they need some love and attention too.

This was a great background for the guys. Nice and rustic. Pretty manly. It was the Boot and Shoemaker Shop. We like the guys to feel comfortable and not dread taking photos. We are always looking for great locations that will make them feel this way. Also, we try not to be so posey. There are only so many ways to pose a guy. We always say, "If you are a hand in the pockets kind of guy, stand that way." "Maybe Captain Morgan style." Be yourself and how you normally would stand if you were hanging out. Then we'll take it from there. I think they did just that!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY NEAL!

Today I want to wish a very Happy Anniversary to my husband Neal Urban! These past 4 years flew by. I can not believe all that we have accomplished together. We have experienced so many new things and are always continuing to have fun.

I know this is a blog about Neal Urban Studio photos but, I want to thank fellow photographer and friend Scott Jarvie for taking this photo for us. We were in Las Vegas for the annual WPPI Conference (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) and quite busy with classes and the expo. But we did manage to have Scott take our engagement photos around the Las Vegas Strip. We got all dressed up and did the shoot at about midnight. I will admit I was super tired and it was tough getting myself ready that late. Yeah I know it's Vegas. We had such a great time. I hope our clients have the same experience we did when we photograph them.

Neal,

You are always the positive one in our relationship. You keep us going strong and I do enough worrying for the both of us. We will embark on many new journeys this year. We will be taken to many new places for work this season. From a wedding in Alaska, to a wedding in Antigua, let's do what we do best. Let's create amazing memories for people. But at the same time, let's make sure to take time for ourselves during this crazy and exciting wedding season this year. I mean it haha!

I love you!

GENESEE COUNTRY VILLAGE AND MUSEUM WEDDING

Congratulations Lindsay and Adam! They got married over the weekend! They had an awesome venue! Their reception was at the Genesee Country Village and Museum. What a cool location. Everyone has probably visited there during their grade school days on a field trip. I know we did!

The Village actually does not open until next week to the public. So, Lindsay and Adam's guests had the run of the entire property. That was great for us as well. We could go anywhere on the grounds and not have to worry about crowds of people being around.

This was taken at the end of the night at the Hamilton House. We loved this Victorian style home. I wish I could live there! For this image, Neal wanted to capture the entire house. That is why Lindsay and Adam are outside of the gate. We added our own lighting hidden behind the bushes to light up the house. I was helping to add some light on their faces. It was chilly out, so Lindsay and Adam got really close and cuddled up for warmth. Perfect!

Now, I wish I could say that this ended the night 100%. Photography wise yes!! Tammy, a lovely staff member was in charge of driving guests on the grounds in a golf cart that night. We had asked her if she could take us out to the Hamilton House for that last shot. As we were getting back into the cart, she got a radio call, that one of the oxen, Dan, had gotten loose. She needed to help round him up. This was a first! We headed over the Dan, and let me just say, he was giant. He had massive pointy horns as well. Now, we are all sitting in a large golf cart that has no sides. Lindsay, Adam, and I were pretty much exposed. Neal was riding up front with Tammy safely behind a plexiglass window.  Tammy was slowly driving at Dan to push him back to his home. It was a little scary.

Then this happened! Dan decided to peek his head into another of the workers cars. Oh no! We had to get a photo! Long story short (too late haha), we needed to get Lindsay and Adam back to their party! We had to leave the herding back to the staff at the Genesse Country Village and Museum.

What a different story to leave with! But, we got to end the night with the beautiful image of Lindsay and Adam!

Wedding at Delaware Mansion

Sorry for the delay folks. To be honest, this past week our timing has been a bit off. My brother and family were visiting from California. We do not get to see them often, so most of our time was spent with our 2 and 5 year old nieces. There was lots of coloring, barbies, fairies, games, and dress up. We had so much fun and it was sad to see them return home today. But enough of that haha!

Sarah on her wedding day at the Mansion on Delaware! The room Sarah got ready in was great. I love this room for the bride. The windows are placed perfectly, with so much light coming in. Now, on Sunday I showed you the same pose that Neal had taken. Here it is again. You can see how different each bride is and the settings are different.

Sarah had a more antique style dress without a long train. But this pose still works lovely with her. She had a very thin satin dress with a stunning bodice. With a turn of the head and hand on the hip, another lovely image was captured!

And to top it all off, her mother actually made her bouquet. (She made everyone's bouquets). She did an amazing job!

Buffalo Bridal Portrait

Good morning Monday! Back to work! I bring to you today, a stunning image of Sarah!

This was taken by Neal before I even started to work with him! I do know some of the back story though! Sarah got ready at her parents home. The window was open in the room that she was getting ready in. Neal noticed there was a nice breeze coming in and the curtains were flowing beautiful.

At first glance, it looks like Sarah's veil is flowing. It is actually the curtains flowing in the breeze. Neal had her take a look out the window and let the curtains do the rest. I think Sarah just looks amazing! I wish I was there working on this one. I joined a few months after this wedding!
