BABY JOE CAKE SMASH

I mentioned in yesterdays engagement blog that we had back to back shoots at Knox Farm State Park. Well, here is the first shoot with baby Joe and his first birthday cake smash!

Everything about this little guy is adorable. From that outfit, to that face covered in green frosting. Baby Joe was such a joy to photograph. His cake had an outdoor theme, with a chocolate dirt road for his race cars to go on. Those cars were the kicker for baby Joe to go for the cake. After he had a taste and got used to the frosting, he became more interested in the cake. And let me just say, it tasted amazing. We all had a little bite!

Now it was time to stand and explore a little. You never know what kids are going to do, especially when a bunch of grown adults are making fools of themselves to get laughs. Baby Joe stood up and gave us this great pose! Look how cute he is with that little hat! So much fun!

SUNSET AT KNOX FARM

We had a super busy day yesterday. Back to back shoots at Knox Farm State Park. One was a first birthday cake smash, which you will see soon! Then here is Jordan and Nick on their engagement session!

Thank God the humidity died down for them. We had a beautiful night for an engagement session. And they looked stunning! I knew right when Neal showed me this photo in the camera, it was going up on the blog pronto! What a gorgeous sky! I loved Jordan's choice of wine colored dress. It was perfect for her. And Nick, wow! He looked so GQ in his suit.

Yeah, we did a prom pose. But who cares. Look how great Jordan and Nick look! So romantic and in the moment. They were such a great couple to photograph and we can't wait for their wedding next year!

716 WEDDING!

And here it is! Kristine and Andy, accompanied by their wedding party on July 16, 2016 outside of 716 Sports Bar!

Like I mentioned before, Kristine and Andy are hard core sports fans. Their engagement shoot was at Ralph Wilson Stadium. So, it was only fitting to be in the downtown Buffalo "sports" area.

They had such a fun wedding party too! I gave them a basic pose/line up for this shot. Only because I wanted to make sure they were in the frame for what I was shooting. Then let them go to town and have fun! I didn't care how they changed things up as long as we could see everyone.

I think they did a great job and had a lot of fun with it!

NIGHT SHOOT AT PEARL ST. GRILLE

End of the night for Kristine and Andy! They had an amazing wedding and great weather for their wedding July 16th! They had a packed dance floor, but we wanted to sneak them out for one last photo and get them back to the party!

This was taken by Shane, (you all remember Shane)!. He was assisting me for Kristine and Andy's wedding. Neal was shooting another. I love this shot from Shane! I asked if he could go super wide and get all of Pearl St.Grill in it and bam! Done! Kristine and Andy ended with a great photo and kiss goodnight!

DOWNTOWN WEDDING IN BUFFALO PART 1

Kristine and Andy were married July 16th! Yes, 716! They are huge sports fans. So, you are probably thinking, they definitely had photos done at 716 Restaurant. You are right! But, I am not showing you that today.

This is one of my favorite buildings in Buffalo. I would always see it, but Neal and I were never able to use it for photos. We were actually shooting around Coca Cola Field, and I was looking around a saw it across the street. We had to go! It is part of Erie County Community College

We put Kristine and Andy in one of the archways and had them have a nice moment. I shot this from across the street as well. Good thing there wasn't much traffic either. We were already pressed for time and only had 5 minutes before we had to be back to Pearl Street for the reception!

BRIDE AT HAYLOFT IN THE GROVE

We are back with Sarah at Hayloft in the Grove!

I thought this image was pretty fun! You know mirrors and reflections with Neal! I love the round mirror! It's not often we get fun style mirrors.

There isn't much to say about this haha! I think it's pretty self explanatory, but I wanted to share! I will say, when doing reflections, placement of the couple is important. Sometimes they do take a few minutes to get perfect!

BRIDE WITH HER MOTHER AND SISTER

Cousin, Sarah, Rachael, and Aunt Sue! Time to get the lovely Sarah ready to get hitched at Hayloft in the Grove.

I was not able to photograph this wedding with Neal. I had my own wedding that day. So, going through these images were very emotional for me. Even though, I could not be there, I helped Sarah and Christina with any planning or ideas they needed help with.

This was one of my favorites from Sarah getting ready. The room she got ready in was amazing (according to Neal haha). I agree. What amazing light. It has such a bright and airy feel.

I love when brides have their moms, sisters, or those people that are very important to them help with the dress. Not that all the bridesmaids are not important. But, sometimes just having those few people help can create some amazing a touching images. Having everyone involved can cause chaos and the bride can get stressed.

I mean, how often do you have your mom and sister dressing you haha! Love these Cinderella moments!

CAKE SMASH WITH MAKS!

I could not resist posting this image first from Maks first birthday cake smash at Neal Urban Studio! Would you look at that face!

Maks was such a pleasure to have back in the studio again. He started off great. He was super happy and all smiles. When we brought the cake in, he really wasn't sure about it. He was too distracted with the props we had. We started with a camping style theme. To get his attention, we took out the set props to see if he would go for the cake.

Maks had a few bites of the cake, but still wasn't too sure about it. He started to crawl and bam! Knee right in the cake haha. We took a little time out. The mom said, "Let's go one more time!"! A few more bites and then this! You could tell he was getting fussy and ready for a nap. But how could we not take a few with the pouty face!

This is just too cute! I love it!

POST FATHER/DAUGHTER DANCE AT TONAWANDA CASTLE

The parent dances always make me teary eyed! Laura definitely did that to me.

This was taken during the father/daughter dance at Laura and Ian's wedding at Tonawanda Castle. Her dance with her father was very emotional! They had such an amazing connection. As Laura's dance with her father came to an end, mom joined in for a family hug. That is where I lost it. I had to pull it together and fast. These were moments I couldn't miss.

This was one of my favorite moments that day! Don't get me wrong. The entire day was filled with emotional moments, but this was a goodie to remember!

SOLO BRIDE AT ALRIGHT KNOX ART GALLERY

Welcome back Laura and Ian! Well just Laura!

I love this solo shot of Laura. She looks absolutely stunning! This was taken at Albright Knox Art Gallery! The funny thing about this image, was that it wasn't even planned or posed. I was originally working with Ian and the guys and I saw Laura strutting her stuff on a ledge of the gallery! I turned and started snapping away. Once I saw how pretty everything was looking, I had to take a time out from Ian. I then gave Laura a little direction and had her glance off into the distance.

This image was great because Laura was just having fun! As photographers, we always have to have eyes everywhere. I know it sounds creepy, but never lose site of the bride or groom. You never know what may happen. In this case, still having eyes on the Laura, created a beautiful image!
