Delaware Park Wedding

Here is another image from Elisa and David's wedding last weekend!

This was taken at Delaware Park. We very rarely do wedding photos as Delaware Park because it is always so busy with other weddings. There are times where you have to wait your turn to take photos. We want our couples to feel like they are the only wedding on site and not have to share their day with 20 other Brides.

Elisa and David really wanted to go Delaware Park. So, we let them know in advance that it could be busy. We were in complete shock when we arrived and there was only one other wedding at the Park. We got to take the wedding party where ever we wanted. It was great and will probably never happen again!

This image turned out amazing! The natural back lighting from the sun was beautiful. We had Elisa slowly walk up the steps. Then reach out her hand to David and he was to help her the rest of the way.

I love all the detail in this image. Elisa and David look amazing, but I really love the fountain in the background. I love the detail in the water. We got some fantastic images at Delaware Park. We were so happy that we stuck it out and ventured there!

GLOW STICK FAREWELL!

Elisa and David got married last week! They had a great idea for their farewell send off. A lot of people like to use sparklers. They decided to use glow sticks!

Their reception was at the Four Points Sheraton in Niagara Falls. It is right on the water. We asked the DJ (Mike Setlock from Signature Entertainement) to make an announcement for the wedding to head outside by request of Elisa and David. We thought only a handful of people would leave the dance floor. Instead, the entire wedding came outside. Glow sticks were passed out and we took a grand shot of everyone all lit up. Then we had them break apart on two sides and had Elisa and David run through the tunnel of glowing light! Neal and I were at different angles, with Neal being straight on and I was above him. I got this great shot of the tunnel covering Elisa and David!

It was so much fun and the images turned out great. I love Elisa and David's glowing glasses!

LOVE IS IN THE AIR!

Happy Anniversary Alex and Mike! They had a "Love is in the air" theme for their wedding.

They had their photo shoot at Bond Lake Park in Sanborn, NY. There is a huge hill that made them feel like they were standing in the clouds. When we first arrived there was complete blue sky. As time went on, some amazing clouds rolled in. It was time to climb that hill!

Alex had a super lightweight dress that flowed beautifully in the wind. The wind created some great movement. In this shot, we really wanted the sky and the clouds to stand out. That is one reason, we kept a simple pose. We had them look off into the distance and have Alex drop her flowers to her side.

Alex and Mike were so much fun to photograph! They also just welcomed their first child! Congratulations!

TERRI & CORT AT OUR LADY OF VICTORY

Another Happy Anniversary to one of our couple's, Terri and Cort!

Terri and Cort do not live in town, so the first time we really got to meet them was the wedding day. It actually felt like we had known them for a long time. We all got pretty comfortable really fast!

Their ceremony was at Our Lady of Victory (Basilica) in Lackawanna. It is a magnificent church. We love shooting there. This was taken after Terri and Cort were pronounced husband and wife. They were processing down the aisle. The Basilica is a huge church with a super long aisle as well. So, there was plenty of time to get some great images of them walking out. They were casually talking to each other and laughing. We love this shot because it was very natural with them smiling and looking at each other. It is so pretty too with the church and guests in the background as well!

Happy Anniversary Terri and Cort!

ASHLEY & DAN AT FORT NIAGARA STATE PARK

Save the Date!! Ashley and Dan are getting married tomorrow!

We did their engagement shoot last year at Fort Niagara State Park. There are some wonderful buildings on property! We shot this at an old victorian style brick home. There was a broken down porch with amazing vines growing through it. There were not stairs for Ashley and Dan to climb. But they were both troopers and climbed right up! (and even Ashley in a dress)!

They brought a sign with them with their date on it that someone had made for them. We thought it was a great place to incorporate it! Right when we had them where we needed, the wind started blowing and the sign would not stay flat. We took about 50 shots just to get it. We had Ashley and Dan look at each other. Probably for a really long time haha. But we did get some great laughs as well! And we got the image for them to use for their Save the Date cards!

Neal and I can't wait to shoot their wedding tomorrow!

MODEL CARS AND A NEWBORN!

Meet baby Joe! Isn't he adorable?! Baby Joe and family came to Neal Urban Studio this week for newborn photos.

This image would not have happened if Laura's(babies mom) mother did not suggest bringing these model cars. Great idea grandma!

Baby Joe's father, Joe and Laura's father are really into cars. They are restoring an old Corvette at the moment. It was so great to incorporate these into the photo with so much meaning behind it.

We had the cars all set up and it was time to bring in little Joe. Let's just say he wasn't cooperating very well at first. We can't blame him for not wanting to sleep, look how cool and colorful those cars are! But we were determined to make this happen. Sarah, our cousin who helps with the newborn shoots got the baby to calm down and get back into a deep sleep. These kinds of images are usually done in a sequence of shots. Both Sarah and I would have to hold up the baby on both sides so he didn't fall over. Then move our hands at different times when Neal told us. However, baby Joe was perfectly still and asleep that he stayed right on the car without us holding him. No trick photography here folks!! Thanks to baby Joe Neal got everything in one shot!

Love it! We can't wait to get baby Joe back in the studio for his 1st birthday shoot!

DANIELLE & ANDREW AT OUR LADY OF VICTORY

One last Happy Anniversary haha! To Danielle and Andrew who also just celebrated their anniversary!

This was also taken at Our Lady of Victory (Basilica). However, this is an angle that you normally wouldn't see. This was after their ceremony. We always stay at the Basilica for photos inside and out. There is so much to work with.

This was taken close to the back of the church. After we cleared everyone out, we had Danielle and Andrew sit next to each other in one of the pews. Neal took this shot from directly across from them. The Basilica is a pretty dark church. Even though we were near the doors, we still needed some extra light on Danielle and Andrew.

I love this image from the Basilica. We do shoot there a lot, so we are always looking for different ideas to make everyone's wedding different.

Happy Anniversary Danielle and Andrew

B&G of Park Country Club

Lauren and Nick just celebrated their first anniversary! Happy Anniversary!

This image was taken at Park Country Club. It was on one of the golf cart paths. It was beautifully lined with giant trees. After stepping aside a few times for the golfers to pass, it made a perfect place to take cover from the bright sun and heat.

We wanted to start off the portrait session with a simple set of shots. We had Nick and Lauren stand next to each other and a nice smile for the camera. Pretty standard. But there was nice light coming through everywhere, so it made a bright, airy, and beautiful shot.

Happy Anniversary to Nick and Lauren!

MIRROR MIRROR ON THE WALL...

Doesn't Jillian look beautiful? Jillian and Patrick were married in August of last year.

This was taken when Jillian was getting ready. Neal and I were on our way out the door to head to the church, when we saw this great mirror. It was near the front door, and amazing light was coming in. We had Jillian posed in the mirror and had her glance away over her shoulder. Everything from the details in her dress to the details in her bouquet look really amazing!

I really love mirror shots. They can be so beautiful and look very timeless!

SHOE SCONCE SUNDAY!

I love this shoe shot from Laura and Tim's wedding a few years ago.

Laura got ready at her parent's house. We always take a walk around to scope out the area for shot ideas. They had an amazing house. Neal and I both walked by these light sconces and had the same idea to hang the shoes. We took the picture first without turning the light on. But once we hit the switch it looked really awesome!

I love it!
