FAMILY ENGAGEMENT AT DELAWARE PARK

So, we saw Nick and Jill's little pup Bentley the other day, but only his sleepy little face. This is a nice family shot taken at Delaware Park for their engagement session.

As I mentioned before, working with dogs is always tricky. You never know if they are going pay attention. Bentley was great! Every time we called his name, his ears went up and he looked right at us. We were pretty lucky. That doesn't happen often.

When our clients ask if they can bring their dogs for engagement photos, we always tell them to bring someone else to the shoot with them. We work with the dogs first and then send them away with whoever came a long. This helps us to get amazing images with just the couple. They will not be worrying about their dogs or what to do with them when we are not taking photos of them. It is just much easier. And since Neal and I are both shooting, we can't look after them either. Even though sometimes, I would not mind sneaking away and playing with the dogs.

SLEEPY DOG!

Meet Bentley!

I know you can't see all of him, but I couldn't resist. This image is too cute. We started Nick and Jill's engagement session at Delaware Park. We had just started and only walked a short way, and you could tell Bentley was already tired. We started in the rose garden area. If you know the park, you know that is it super close to the road and not a far walk.

Nick went to pick him up so we could move on, and Bentley rested his head right on his shoulder. We stopped him and had Jill sneak in right on the side. Slowly Bentley's eyes started to close. He was falling asleep like a newborn child! It was hysterical. Poor pup!

CHERRY BLOSSOM ENGAGEMENT SHOOT

Rise and grind! It's Monday and everyone is back to work. Ugh Mondays!

Anyway, this past week we had an engagement session with Nick and Jill. We have had to reschedule 2 times due to the weather. Our original location was to be at Knox Park State Farm. Well, day of once again, the weather was not cooperating out that way. It was beautiful here in Buffalo, so we asked them if they wanted to head to Delaware Park or reschedule again. They were on board and we were shooting!

We had to select a location that was dog friendly because they were bringing their pup Bentley (you will meet him tomorrow). As we were shooting around the park, Neal noticed the cherry blossoms across the way at the Japanese Gardens. Now, we have never been able to do a shoot when they were in bloom, so we were pumped to head over there and take advantage! Nick and Jill were super excited as well.

It was so pretty! I love the colors in this image. We had Nick and Jill stand right in the middle of the trees so it created a tunnel of color! They loved it!

The rain held off until we finished and all got into our cars. Thank God!

STABLES AT KNOX FARM!

Let's show you one more from Rori and Marc's engagement session at Knox Farm State Park!

This was taken at a part of the park we really never explored before. It was done at some horse stables. This area had a nice and rustic feel. Just what Rori and Marc were looking for. The pups were tagged out for this photo and hanging out with me, while Neal took advantage of this area.

We had Marc lean in toward Rori for a nice, romantic moment. We wanted them to feel like they were all alone in the middle of nowhere. Unfortunately, all the dogs had eyes directly on mom and dad for this one. It was pretty funny. I am so happy Neal was able to get this beautiful image. Those cute dogs were such a distraction. We just wanted to play the whole time!

A HAPPY GREYHOUND FAMILY AT KNOX FARM!

I mentioned in yesterday's blog, that Rori and Marc drove up this weekend with their 3 dogs for an engagement shoot at Knox Farm State Park.

Here are the 3 pups! Meet Gardenia, Ike, and Chloe (I hope I spelled the names right)! They were such great dogs. They were so calm and lovable.

We took a little walk trough the Park and found some tall grass. We had the whole family in the tall grass, while Neal took the photos through the grass. It's always tough with pets, especially to get them to look at the camerat the same time. And this time, we had to get the attention of 3 dogs! I would say we all did a good job!

I love the lighting in this photo. I love the golden color that was cast on Rori and Marc! We told Rori and Marc to not pay attention to the dogs either. We would take care of that.

It was such a fun shoot with the dogs. They definitely got a workout and were fast asleep as soon as they got back to the car!

SUNSET AT KNOX FARM

Rori and Marc drove in from Boston this past weekend with their 3 dogs for their engagement session at Knox Farm State Park

We will be shooting their wedding in Boston in August! This was our first meeting in person as well with Rori and Marc. We all hit it off great! We had so much fun with them. Rori told us their style and Knox Farm was the ticket!

This image was the last series of the night. The sun was setting and we were getting some amazing colors in the sky. Neal wanted to do some silhouettes. He had Rori and Marc take a nice long walk up on this hill. After that, Neal tells me I need to head that way to give them directions! I then started my slow jog over haha.

We had Marc take Rori by the hand and lead her on a casual walk! This image really wasn't edited either. The only thing Neal had to do was remove me from the photo. I had nowhere to hide on this one. But I will say, my silhouette looked like a creepy apparition from the X-Files.

We can't wait for Rori and Marc's wedding!

FIRST DATE!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Ashley and Justin had their first date at Cecelia’s Restaurant in Buffalo. Why not go back for some engagement photos!

We were the only people in the restaurant for the shoot! Well, except the one lady who was seated at the booth exactly where Ashley and Justin sat for their date! Should we ask her to move? We decided not to ask her and work around the rest of the restaurant.

For this, I wanted to incorporate the Cecelia’s name into the shot. I had them seated at a far table and shot through the glass. Neal was shooting up close to get a different look, so we captured all bases!

ENGAGEMENT SHOOT LAUGHS!

Here is another image of Ashley and Justin's engagement session at Delaware Park.

This was at the very beginning of the shoot. Everyone is always a bit nervous when we start. And Ashley told us she was! We started off pretty basic with having them look at each other. Ashley started to laugh like crazy. She could not keep a straight face when she looked at Justin. Then he started to laugh too! I love the way Justin brought in Ashley for a hug!

These are the moments we love to capture. These are genuine laughs! This was a great way to break the ice as well. Then they began to settle down and have a lot of fun!

WINTER ENGAGEMENT SHOOT IN DELAWARE PARK

Ashley and Justin are getting married this August! We had a great engagement session with them recently at Delaware Park.

We were hoping for a lot of snow, but it got pretty nice the days leading up to the shoot (not that I am complaining at all). Most of it melted, but we were really excited there was still some on the ground! It was a cold one too! I made sure to tell Ashley and Justin to dress for the weather. They did just that and looked great!

We had no set locations in mind. We walked around Delaware Park and stopped at different spots on the way. This part of the stairs had the most snow, so I asked Ashley and Justin to stop here and snuggle up really close to stay warm. Then I had them take a gander out at Hoyt Lake. Everything looked so pretty!

SUPER BOWL SUNDAY TAILGATE!

We thought this would be a great photo for game day! Kristine and Andy had their engagement shoot at Ralph Wilson Stadium. This shoot was done by Leah!

They brought everything for a great tailgate party to include in their photos. Kristine and Andy brought beer, chips, dip, and even Anchor Bar wings! They had a folding table and a cooler as well. It felt like we were going to party!

As you can see, they incorporated their date on a football. During this part of the shoot, they started to play football as well. It was a blast.

Wings + Beer + Football = Super Bowl Sunday (actually all Buffalo fans every game)!
