STUNNING MOTHER TO BE

Jenna and Artie are having a baby! We did their maternity session last night at Tifft Nature Preserve. It was a gorgeous, sticky, hot night haha. But the images came out amazing.

I had to start with a solo of Jenna. She looked beautiful. I absloutely loved her dress. With Jenna being so tiny, having the dress tight around the belly was perfect. And then the super long train added such an elegant feel.

We did have a slight breeze. However, the material for Jenna's dress was a bit heavy. With some assistance (my waving of the dress to get some movement), we got the wind to catch and pick up the dress. Neal was ready to snap away as I let go of the dress. He was shooting at a lower level to incorporate some of the grass in the foreground. All Jenna had to do was look down toward her shoulder.

I am in love with this image!

BUFFALO SUNSET MATERNITY

I couldn't resist posting one more from Lindsey and Cory's maternity session at Woodlawn Beach State Park.

Would you look at this! Amazing sky, amazing light rays, amazing flowy dress, amazing couple! I can go on and on but it is too gorgeous for words. I love how intimate this pose is too. All hands and eyes on the belly, with Lindsey and Cory nice and close.

Since the sun was dropping pretty fast, we did need some extra light on their faces and bodies. But other than that, the back drop was all there!

WOODLAWN BEACH MATERNITY

We had an amazing maternity session last night with Lindsey and Cory at Woodlawn Beach State Park! Lindsey's only requests were dramatic skies and her dress flowing in the wind. Her requests were definitely met!

The skies were so pretty when we arrived at the Beach. Off in the distance, the clouds were a dark gray and moving our way. And it was super windy. It felt like a storm was on the way! The sun was also setting and parts of the sky were on fire. Lindsey had great dresses as well. The material was so lightweight. At times it was out of control!

We had her pose right on the waters edge. She brought a beach hat. I love accessories. Even though it was getting dark out, I still thought we should use it. We also needed a bit of fill light on her face. I really liked how her dress looked in this image too! I just love everything about it!

HAPPY 1 YEAR BLOG ANNIVERSARY!

Today marks 1 year from when I took over writing the Neal Urban Blog! It has been so great reliving the weddings and shoots that we have had. I am very proud that I had a post ready for every day as well. (well almost haha. I know I missed a few due to technical issues).

This was not an easy task. When Neal asked me if I would like to take over, I was really excited. He didn't mention the late nights I would be up blogging due to our crazy schedule. There were many 1:00am nights I was laying in bed after a wedding and thinking, I forgot to type a new blog for tomorrow. I would get up and head to the computer. Good thing Neal is usually up. He always had an image in mind! It really was a team effort! It was definitely worth it though! We know it brought so many smiles to our clients and readers!

I hope all of our readers enjoyed hearing the back story of how we created some of our photos. I also hoped you enjoyed seeing some images that might not have been on the website. I loved being able to go through and select some silly or goofy photos. I wanted to show that Neal and I really do have so much fun with our clients. I know most followers know Neal for his artistic style edits. So, this is a great way to showcase some of the more simple and fun photos that do happen on all of our shoots.

I hope you will all continue to visit Neal Urban Blog. We have an awesome line up of weddings this year and I can't wait to chat about them! Cheers!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

We had a great maternity session in Neal Urban Studio yesterday for an amazing family and friends!

Christina looked absolutely gorgeous! She was simply stunning! And can you believe she will be having twin girls? We had the pleasure of photographing her first and second maternity photos that brought to the family 2 boys! Now they await the arrival of 2 girls very soon. Watch out boys (and daddy)!

Christina picked out the perfect dresses for her session. This was my favorite! I love everything about this image. Her belt and headband tied in so good for this. The lacey dress gave a nice vintage look. The colors are so pretty. Then we brought in the chandelier that transformed the whole feel of the image as it ties everything together.

All I can say is Christina looked beautiful! We can't wait to create more amazing images when the little ladies arrive!

MATERNITY AT TIFT NATURE PRESERVE

Last week you saw Natalie and her sister Nellie in a photo pregnant together. I did say, I would post Natalie and her husband Joe soon. Here it is and it is absolutely beautiful!

We ended Natalie and Joe's maternity session at Tift Nature Preserve in Buffalo. The sun was beginning to set and lighting was beautiful. We were up on top of the small hill that is on the Preserve. We had Joe sneak in behind Natalie and had both of them put their hands on Natalie's belly! Joe leaned in nice and close to his amazing wife! The sun was going down and casting some great colors in the sky. It was the perfect spot and we didn't want to stop taking photos!

Now we patiently await for the arrival of the baby to take newborn photos!

SISTER...PREGNANT...SISTER!

Sister and sister pregnant together!! (say this in a Martin Short voice from Father of the Bride Part 2. If you saw this movie, you know what I am talking about!)! Natalie and Joe (we did their wedding photos as well) are expecting their first child. Natalie's sister, Nellie is also expecting and their due dates are pretty close.

Natalie had asked if her sister could join us for a few shots during their maternity session! Sure thing! We started the shoot at Gallagher Pier on the Buffalo Outer Harbor. We got some great shots by the pier with Natalie and Joe and their dogs as well. It was extremely windy, so we moved on to Tift Nature Preserve down the road.

Neal already had a shot in mind for Natalie and Nellie. After having them walk up a hill (according to Nellie it was quite a hike haha), we asked them to stand back to back and hold their bellies. The light was beautiful and they were both glowing. They had matching outfits too, so it worked out even better! After the posed shots were done we were all talking and joking, Natalie and Nellie were laughing and Neal caught this natural image. The photo turned out beauitful! Natalie and Nellie looked amazing!

And don't worry Joe, you will be up in a few days with your beautiful wife. It's not everyday we get sisters pregnant together!

PEEK-A-BOO

Laura and Joe are expecting their second child very soon. On Thursday, we did a maternity and family photo shoot for them. It was done at Fort Niagara State Park.

Little Victoria was full of energy and wanted to run around. Trying to get a simple family portrait was a challenge, but so much fun. She was such a cute little diva. Nani even came along to help. She did a great job too! We were working with Laura and Joe, while Victoria was playing in the background. She kept yelling for mommy and looking our way. We wanted to bring her into the family portrait, without any posing for her. We had Laura and Joe try to call her over and see what would happen. As she started to run our way, Laura and Joe got into position of where they needed to be. We were hoping to have Victoria pose in between them. With cameras in hand, she came running up so fast and hid behind mommy, Neal yelled out "Peek-a-boo!", Victoria peeked out and gave us a look exactly what we were hoping for. Bonus! She knocked it out of the park the first time! And as fast as she came running up, she vanished back to Nani just as quickly! But we absolutely love her reaction. We have a feeling that she's going to be a great sister to her future baby brother!

This is just the tip of the iceburg from this shoot. We did it all from traditional family portraits, artistic belly photos in the woods, romantic mommy & daddy photos on the beach and playful photos of Victoria chasing hundreds (literally) of birds photos!
