REFLECTING POOL BRIDE & GROOM

We are back at the National Mall in Washington D.C. with Laura and Daniel!

If you read yesterday's blog, I mentioned if we turned the opposite way of the Washington Monument, you would see the Lincoln Memorial. We didn't have time to walk all the way there, but we still wanted to use it as a back drop. We still had the gorgeous Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool to use as well.

This image was pretty funny to do. Neal was taking this image further away from where Laura and Daniel were standing. So, he asked me to be the middle man and get them in place and relay any direction if needed. The only thing was we had to hurry because there were a bunch of ducks in the water and Neal wanted them in the photo. And if anyone knows me, I am not a quiet person. I had strict instructions to be really quiet and not disturb the ducks. Well, how do you do that, and communicate with Neal, Laura, and Daniel at the same time? Simple...Talk with your hands! I am definitely good at that.

Neal wanted this nice intimate moment (with hundreds of people around haha) and I was making Laura and Daniel laugh with my communicating methods. I am so glad I can make people laugh just being myself! Unfortunately, the ducks swam away by the time we got everything perfect. In the end, we got this amazing image. Great teamwork by all!

BRIDE & GROOM AT THE WASHINGTON MONUMENT

Laura and Daniel's wedding was so much fun! We travelled to Washington D.C. for their wedding.

Laura and Daniel actually had their wedding and reception in Maryland, but wanted to do a first look and photos in the city. The bonus was we all stayed right in the downtown area. So we did a first look at the Renaissance Hotel. Then we all jumped into the limo to do photos in the downtown D.C. area.

Neal and I arrived a day early and walked around all of the touristy spots. We mapped out photo locations as we walked as well. Since driving is not the greatest in that area (super busy), we had to keep everything pretty close.

First stop, the Washington Monument area. And I say area because we were not right at the Monument. We were in the general area of the National Mall. It extends all the way to the Lincoln Memorial. Which if we turned the opposite way, you could see in the distance, with the Reflecting Pool in the center.

Now, this was a prime Saturday! And the tourists were full blown in the area. That did not stop us though. Look at how amazing this image is. Yes, there were a few hundred people we needed to remove, but I love how Neal kept the 2 people in the back ground. Look at them looking right at Laura and Daniel. They were so curious. They watched almost everything we did with Laura, Daniel and the wedding party. We felt we had to keep them!

VIRGIN CREEK FALLS

While in Alaska, and before Sheryl and Rob's wedding day, we went out scouting for photo locations. Neal had a list of places to find and explore. Virgin Creek Falls was one of them. Let's just say this was not what I was expecting.

We were driving on a winding road that had a ton of houses and all of a sudden come to a dead end. I thought we were lost. It seemed pretty weird that a waterfall would be mixed in somewhere. Sure enough, there was a tiny sign and pathway that said Virgin Creek Falls. I guess the directions were correct.

As we were walking through the woods, you could hear the sound of a waterfall. We were getting close. I was expecting this giant waterfall, but tucked away was the cutest little waterfall. It was so beautiful and peaceful. If I lived in that area, I would be there everyday with a book (yes a book, not a camera)!

As for trying to pose a bride and groom, it was not the best. It was really tough to find a vantage point to make the photo work! As you have already seen, we found many other amazing places to take Sheryl and Rob for wedding photos!

But this was a nice little stop for Neal and I!

A BRIDE & HER FLOWER GIRLS!

This image of Kristin and her little flower girls is so cute! Kristin had a huge suite at Seneca Niagara Casino. A lot of room to work with!

The flower girls were a very big part of the day. They were a huge part of Kristin getting ready as well! We tried to incorporate them into as much as we could. From trying on Kristin's wedding shoes, to helping with the dress. They were little divas and fit right in with the bridesmaids.

Their dresses were so much fun as well. They had so many layers. Since Kristin helped to get the girls' layers perfect, we thought it would be fun to have the girls help Kristin!

FIRST DANCE AT RAPIDS THEATRE

Oh how we love Rapids Theatre! Especially for first dance photos!

Kristin and John had their reception at Rapids Theatre. Neal loves that he can work with the lighting crew at Rapids to have the best lighting for the first dances. And no matter which way you turn to take a photo, there is always an amazing back ground. And sure enough, this gorgeous image was captured of Kristin and John.

Kristin and John had such a beautiful reception. Everything was so elegant and timeless. We wanted to incorporate that same elegance into the first dance photos as well!

Forest Lawn Wedding Spot!

Another amazing image from Kristin and John's wedding! We stopped at Forest Lawn Cemetery for a quick stop before their reception.

This is one of my favorites spots at Forest Lawn. It is the most beautiful entryway. Every time I drive by (Neal Urban Studio is located right down the road), I always say we need a bride and groom in that archway. I am so happy that we could use it with Kristin and John. Kristin had mentioned stopping at Forest Lawn because she used to walk the park often. After this photo we ventured inside and took some photos on their beautiful bridges. It was a perfect location and worked so well for them!

Stairs & Pillars BRIDE & GROOM

Happy Monday! We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoyed spending time with their families.

Today we bring you Kristin and John! Kristin wanted a very timeless and elegant style of photos. She also wanted to go to locations that were not super popular. This location has amazing architecture. So many people like to go to Albright Knox Art Gallery or the Historical Society to get the pillar look.

On your wedding day, we want you to enjoy your day and not worry about waiting to take your turn for photos because another wedding is there. We really try to come up with locations that are not so popular if we can. Or to take you to areas that another wedding is not at, and then heading back to more popular spots.

I love this building that's located outside of the downtown area. We had the whole place to ourselves. Kristin and John have such an amazing connection. And also an amazing relationship with so many jokes and laughs. It's hard to not laugh a lot around John. For this, we wanted them to feel like they were all alone. But, not so serious either. Neal gave them a starting point and then let Kristin and John lead the way. They did a great job too!

This image is just gorgeous!

OUR LADY OF VICTORY BASILICA BRIDE AND GROOM

One last image (for now) of Tiffany and Colin at Our Lady of Victory Basilica.

It is not often we see this part of the Basilica for photos, but I really wanted to do something different for Tiffany and Colin. Every part of the Basilica is gorgeous. This is the view from the parking lot area. I knew walking into the ceremony, that I wanted to do a quick portrait here. And luckily, the puffy white clouds were still around.

This was a Neal assist shot with the veil. Yes, our rolls were reversed! I needed Neal to gracefully get a nice flow of veil action. I would say he nailed it! It was perfect!

We had so much fun creating these amazing images for Tiffany and Colin. They were up for anything. We had so many laughs too! Just how a wedding day should be. Love, laughs, and a lot of fun!

IT'S A BENTLEY KIND OF HOLIDAY!

As we are finishing up editing the Christmas photos and getting them loaded, I could not resist posting this image of Bentley!

Would you look at that face and ears! What a little gentleman. Bentley definitely knows how to "smile" for the camera. I just wanted to play with him. I won't lie, I was very distracted by all of the dogs this year. They were all so cute and just wanted to play.

Neal and I are such dog lovers and were so excited to see all the pups for the shoot. And it was so great to meet new pups as well!
