Forest Lawn Wedding Spot!

Another amazing image from Kristin and John's wedding! We stopped at Forest Lawn Cemetery for a quick stop before their reception.

This is one of my favorites spots at Forest Lawn. It is the most beautiful entryway. Every time I drive by (Neal Urban Studio is located right down the road), I always say we need a bride and groom in that archway. I am so happy that we could use it with Kristin and John. Kristin had mentioned stopping at Forest Lawn because she used to walk the park often. After this photo we ventured inside and took some photos on their beautiful bridges. It was a perfect location and worked so well for them!

Engagement in Forest Lawn

Happy wedding week to Dave and Kristine! They tie the knot this Sunday!

This image was taken during their engagement shoot at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Buffalo. Yes, the cemetery. It is beautiful there. There are so many amazing places to take photos that will not have grave stones in them. As we were driving over this bridge we saw this colorful tree. We had to stop. We had Dave and Kristine lean on the side of the stone bridge and have a nice smile for the camera. We shot at an angle to get the parts of the tree that had the prettiest colors. You would think this image was taken in fall. But, it was only a few months ago!

If you have some spare time, check out Forest Lawn Cemetery website. Or take a drive through. They do tours on Sundays. You will not believe how pretty it is. We were so happy to get some beautiful images there for Dave and Kristine!

DAVE & KRISTINE ENGAGEMENT SHOOT!

Dave and Kristine began their engagement shoot last week at Forest Lawn Cemetary. All Kristine wanted were some pretty flowers and pink trees. The shoot started out great! There were little goslings, deer, and bunnies everywhere. Kristine said she felt like she was Snow White! Time to find some pink trees! As we were making our way through the grounds, we found a great spot. We get Dave and Kristine in place and the grounds keeper comes around and says the gates close in 10 minutes. Oh no! We didn't panic. We continued to shoot and got some beautiful images!

Plan B! We went into Delaware Park and continued shooting. We found some great spots that Kristine and Dave loved! We found some more pink trees and some other beautiful landscapes. Now, Neal wanted to get a little more creative. He wanted a pink tree, but not for them to stand in front. He wanted the effect of just the leaves. Neal needed a tree he could climb to get a shot over the couple. We pretty much got everything we needed for the shoot, so this was just another idea. We began to walk the park and it started to sprinkle. Oh great! Neal was so bummed. But we didn't want to keep them in the rain. As we made our way back to the cars, Neal spots his tree and the rain stopped! Now we needed some of the leaves on the ground. We shook the branches a bit to get the effect Neal wanted. Kristine and I had a blast doing that! Then Neal climbed the tree and positioned them head to head directly below him. He shot through the branches. As Neal was taking the picture, I was making sure he didn't fall out of the tree. There sure were a lot of laughs during this shoot! Kristine and Dave were such good sports!

BEAUTY AT FOREST LAWN CEMETERY!

Today’s image is a beautiful and dramatic image. If you can believe it, it was taken at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Buffalo. Sure, you think of a cemetery and would never tie a wedding into it. But Forest Lawn has some amazing and beautiful grounds. There are actually tours you can take.

This was always a location that Neal wanted to shoot wedding images at. We were so excited when this couple said that’s where they wanted to go. And we promised them it would not feel like they were in a cemetery. Neal and I took a ride through and scouted out exactly where we wanted to go for pictures, so day of, it would be easy for the wedding party. Because Forest Lawn is so big we had to map out our course. It can get a bit confusing if you are not sure where you are going.

We worked in all different areas, and knew we wanted to end in one of the main entrance ways. The entrances are so amazing! It had been raining on and off for most of the day, so we knew the clouds would start to look amazing when they started to break up. And that’s about exactly the time we got to the final location. There was a light breeze, but strong enough to get some movement in the Bride’s veil.

We did some solos of the Bride and then brought in her Groom for the final touch. We had her stand in a similar pose she did in a solo and asked her man to come in and embrace her with a little kiss on the neck. For a more dramatic effect, we had the Bride close her eyes. The pose, the location, and the clouds all worked out amazing! It was an awesome shot to end on before heading to the reception! And before it started to pour out!
