Spotlight on Alexis!

Alexis and Ryan were married in August of 2011. Their reception was at…can you guess… Shea’s Performing Arts Center.

We all arrived to Shea’s early to take more photos there. The reception was being held on the main stage. We asked Alexis to join us on stage. We wanted to get her in some action style shots. We had her have fun swinging around her dress and twirling. She did an amazing job interacting with her dress. It’s not everyday you can play in your wedding dress!

Everything about this image is stunning. Shea’s is a beautiful location. Adding Alexis in, made it even better!

Today's image is from Ashley and Daniel's wedding from this summer. Some may think a wedding is all about the Bride, which is true but we also like to take some great portraits of the groom as well!

Ashley & Daniel had a classic theme to their wedding. They got married at a beautiful church, portraits at Shea's and the reception was at a beautiful private residence where a horse and buggy escorted their guests from the parking lot to the reception. We wanted to make sure that the style of the images matched the style of their wedding. 

Daniel looks great here. Neal did a sample pose for him and Daniel nailed it for this photo. Shea's is beautiful but the lighting can be a little tough to work with so we brought in extra lights. This image looks amazing in color but I think the Black and White tops it off and makes this portrait timeless!

It's funny that Neal and I were recently having a conversation about how styles from the 1970's & 1980's are coming back into style. We both agree'd that some styles from the early 1900's should come back into style. Those were the days when everyone dressed really nice everywhere they went. Well, we can only hope that Daniel's portrait here can start that trend!

GROOM & GROOMSMEN AT SHEA'S

Here is another image from Nina and Vinny's wedding!

It was only appropriate that we show an image with Vinny, since Nina was a few days ago! This is Vinny and his groomsmen at Shea's Performing Arts Center. We used the grand staircase for them. There were alot of guys, so the stairs were perfect. Vinny and his guys were great too! Don't they all look like they have done this before? They all look so cool! Turning in black and white made it even better. This photo has that timeless classic look to it almost as if they all belong in the 1930's era.

SHEA'S FIRST DANCE

This is an image from Julie and Ben's first dance at Shea's Performing Arts Center!

It is absolutely beautiful! While everyone was on stage watching the action, Neal went up to the balcony to get the full stage shot! I love how the entire stage is shown, even the detail on the outer arch. I really like how Neal used it to frame everything in. 

I will admit, we did tell Julie and Ben where to dance on the stage. We did have this in mind before they started dancing. That was the only detail we had to tell them! But, if we didn't, it would look funny if they were not in center. 

Everything from the lights to the tables with guests watching, just make this image more amazing!

BRIDEMAIDS AND BUBBLES AT SHEA'S

Bubbles can be fun for all ages! Even for some Bridesmaids! This is Julie and her ladies at Shea's Performing Arts Center before her wedding reception.

This was so much fun to do. I was standing above the girls and taking care of the bubbles falling all over them. We told the girls they didn't need to do any posing. All they needed to do was have fun. And they sure did. Once the bubbles started falling they began singing and dancing. They were laughing and having a great time. We loved the natural reactions we got. This was my favorite in the series!

LOVE AT SHEA'S!

This is my favorite image from Ashley and Dan's wedding. You saw the image with the horse and buggy and probably thought it couldn't get any better. Well I think it can!

No, there is not a horse and buggy, but this image is stunning. Part of their photo session was at Shea's Performing Arts Center. We finished up with the wedding party and it was time for Ashley and Dan to be in the spotlight. We wanted Ashley and Dan to be the only people in the theater (besides Neal and I and Bella Star Productions video). We had Ashley and Dan sit in the middle of the theater and have a romantic moment together. They just needed to look at each other and it was perfect! Right out of the camera we knew it was going to be amazing! The image is simple, elegant, and I absolutely love it!

SHEA'S RING SHOT!

 I love this ring shot! This was from this past weekend's wedding with Julie and Ben. 

Their reception was at Shea's. If you have been there, you know there is unlimited places to use for photos.

Even for the details. We loved the marble bar tops in the main lobby. With the help of some lights and bubbles, we got this amazing image. The hardest part was getting the rings to stand up. Once they were in place, we got a great reflection and it was perfect!

TAKING CENTER STAGE!

If you did not already know, it's prime play season here in Buffalo at Shea's Performing Arts Center.  People from all over come to the theater to watch some amazing shows come to life on stage.  This image is from a point of view that the audience would not normally see.

This beautiful couple chose to have their wedding reception at Shea's.  The reception actually took place on the stage. The guests got to experience the thrill of being on stage, if only for one night! Here, the Bride and Groom are having their first dance. The curtain is up, the spot lights are on, and all eyes are on the happy couple! What a dream come true! With this shot in mind, Neal asked the couple to just dance right in the center and he would take care of the rest. This angle captures the beauty of Shea's. You get to see the entire theater, with it's amazing ceilings, beautiful chandeliers, different seating levels, and the couple right in the heart of it all. What more could a photographer ask for!
