DELAVAN HOTEL & SPA BRIDE

Well, we ended the night with Keith and Dana at Salvatore's Italian Gardens. But, lets go back in time when started with Dana at the Delavan Hotel & Spa (which is the new hotel at Salvatore's Italian Gardens if you did not know)!

The rooms at the Delavan are amazing to take photos in. The windows are massive! In this image, we do have the windows covered. But, how can you not take advantage of the "red carpet curtains". They created such a beautiful back drop. It also went perfect with the style of Keith and Dana's wedding. Everything was clean, classic, and elegant.

I absolutely love Dana's dress. She looked stunning! Her dress had a racerback! How fun is that! She is pretty tall as well, so it suited her perfectly.

This was just a fun and gorgeous bridal portrait of Dana before we brought Dad in for a first look. She looks amazing!

END OF THE NIGHT AT BROOKFIELD COUNTRY CLUB

One last image (for now) from Kathy and David's December wedding at Brookfield Country Club!

End of the night. The Club patio was all lit up and decorated for Christmas. This was probably the only Christmasy style of photo we did for Kathy and David. I say Christmasy because of the lights. But, how could we not take advantage of those lights? The sky was so dark, the glow from the lights was just too beautiful.

Kathy had this gorgeous black fur that we hadn't got to use yet for a photo. I know you can't see it too much, but it was just enough for this shot. And Kathy needed to stay warm.

I love how the intimate feel Kathy and David wanted, flowed from beginning to end! This was a great way to end the night.

FIRST DANCE AT BROOKFIELD COUNTRY CLUB

Love, love, this first dance photo of Kathy and David at Brookfield Country Club!

What was so great about their day, was they had the whole Country Club for the wedding. This was a different room then the ceremony. So, once the ceremony ended, all of the guests were lead into another room for cocktail and reception. And walking in, there were trays of champagne to welcome them. How great is that!

The intimate theme of Kathy and David's wedding filtered through into this room as well. They still had super low lighting and candles. We wanted to keep that feel for the first dance too. This image was fun because Neal and I were shooting on opposite sides of the room from each other. At one point, Neal needed one of his lights moved to create this effect. I was in the zone doing my thing. Neal was jumping around to get my attention. Then talking with his hands pretty much for me to move the light. Yes, he could have moved it on his own. But, he didn't want to lose the place he was shooting from. 

I finally looked up and figured out what he wanted done. And he got this beautiful and intimate moment. Let me just say, there were so many gorgeous moments from Kathy and David's first dance.

CANDLELIGHT CEREMONY AT BROOKFIELD COUNTRY CLUB

Kathy and David had a very intimate wedding ceremony at Brookfield Country Club.

The Club was decorated for Christmas. Kathy and David really did not want to have a Christmas style wedding. They had Paula Salvatore from Salvatore's Italian Gardens come in and turn the room into just that. She did all of the flowers and decor. She created a beautiful candlelight setting for the ceremony. She lined the aisle with all different size vases with candles in them. There were also flowers down the aisle. There were candles and lighting up where the vows were to be exchanged. Greenery was draped over the fireplace and candles on the mantle.

Kathy wanted to create an intimate atmosphere. She wanted super low lighting from the room lights and the rest created by the candles. I would say she got exactly that! It looked amazing!

WEDDING PORTRAITS AT THE SILOS

Kathy and David had a December wedding. We were all hoping for a little snow, but no luck.

They were having an evening ceremony a Brookfield Country Club. We did a first look and photos before that.

We did the first look at the Club, then headed to the Silos. It was pretty cold that day too. I swear the temperature dropped and the wind picked up like crazy on the short drive there.

Neal took a quick walk around before Kathy and David got out of the limo. He had everything planned. And I am not joking when I say, Neal was in full on beast mode. He moved around so fast and did so many different things with Kathy and David. It took about 10 minutes to do everything and get Kathy and David back into the warm limo. And we still got some beautiful images! 

This was one of my favorites!

WEDDING AT BROOKFIELD COUNTRY CLUB

Our last wedding of 2017! We had the pleasure of photographing Kathy and David's wedding at Brookfield Country Club.

Both Kathy and David got ready at the Club, so we were able to bounce back and forth between both of them for photos. Here is a fun image of Kathy! She had her wedding dress custom made by Made by Anatomy. She looked stunning!

This was taken from outside of the room. During this time, Neal was shooting more up close. So, to stay out of his way, I decided to go into the hall and shoot. I thought I would try something different. One of the doors was already closed. I needed the other door to be partially open. There was nothing to prop it either. I held the door with one hand and took the image with the other. I am not very strong and this door was heavy. I will admit, the door shut on me a few times! But I managed to get one before it was too late!

GUYS AT THE STATLER LOUNGE BAR

Yes... Another image from Nina and Greg's wedding. But, Nina had her solo image last week. It's time for a shot with Greg and his guys.

The Lounge Bar at the Statler was open when we arrived. While Nina and her ladies got freshened up, we met Greg and the guys for some photos at the bar. Greg had given all his guys cigars and wanted a cool shot. What better place than the Lounge!

After moving a few pieces of furniture around, we had all the guys in position. From there, they just gave us their reactions on their own. They were really getting into it too. 

It is so nice to have the wedding party really into being in photos. Most of the time, the wedding party is ready to hit the bar. Good thing the guys were already having a cocktail when we came in to get this photo! They did a great job and helped us to create this amazing image for Greg.

STARLER CITY BRIDE AND GROOM ON THE BALCONY

I had to post this image of Nina and Greg at Statler City!

Like I mentioned in yesterdays blog, Nina and Greg pretty much had the entire Statler building for their wedding. We decided to head up to the second floor for photos. There are just so many places to take photos at the Statler. We already took advantage of the long hallways, so it was time to experiment shooting across the way from balcony to balcony!

I need to thank Nina's Matron of Honor for assisting on this image. She was on veil duty. She already had some practice earlier, so was pretty much a pro by now. I was on lighting duty, as Neal was shooting from across the way. Let's just say we had so much fun. The Matron of Honor was making us all laugh, and Neal had no idea what was going on. We had to try and do a 1,2,3 serious face. Nina and Greg did it! Right on que, they got into this amazing moment. And they veil was perfect!

Statler Golden Ballroom

Happy Monday! Nina and Greg have so many amazing images to share. I just can't help myself.

Look at this! It is not often where we can take a photo of the bride and groom in their reception room without anyone in it. We finally got to take advantage for Nina and Greg at the Statler. We got back to the Statler with a lot of time before the reception to do photos there. What was great about this wedding was Nina and Greg had both rooms booked at the Statler. Cocktail was in one room, and dinner and dancing in another. None of the guests were allowed in the Ballroom until being seated for intros and dinner.

This gave us an opportunity to take a few photos of Nina and Greg in the Ballroom. And I must say, this is gorgeous! I love the elegant tables as the background. We couldn't have asked for a prettier view!

FATHER & DAUGHTER HAVE THEIR FIRST LOOK

Love, love, love this first look with Nina and her father! Today we'll share two photos to tell the story.

Nina got ready at the Avant Building(Embassy Suites Hotel) in downtown Buffalo. Such a great hotel to get ready in. There is so much room and light! We cleared out the bedroom for Nina to get into her wedding dress. Once we finished up with her portraits, it was time for Nina's first look with her father. What a wonderful and exciting moment. Daddy's little girl all grown up and in her wedding dress on her wedding day! 

I love the way Neal captured this! He placed himself perfectly for when dad walked in the door. He got a nice, creative style of first look photo of dad's reaction, while still capturing Nina in the mirror. My camera was getting the up close reactions from both Nina and her Father. This is one of the reasons I like shooting with Neal. He always has his ideas of what he wants to shoot and usually, not the "simple" shot haha. He always communicates with me of where he will start and then end up, so I am not in his shot or the other way around. I got to capture the up close images of Nina and her father. We got such a nice contrast of images during this time. I can't wait to see how this page in their album is going to look!
