WINDY WEDDING

Frank and Katie had their first look at Whirlpool State Park. From there we headed to the Niagara Gorge and Discovery Center. Katie had an amazing veil that did fly away a one point. But then one of her bridesmaids managed to get it securely locked in her hair.

We decided to try to some veil photos. We were hoping for the veil to cover both Frank and Katie. However, Katie had 2 veils in and when we pulled them over, they sort of split apart. At first Neal wanted to rearrange a bit. Then the wind kicked up and blew both veils to the side and created an open space between Frank and Katie. I loved it and said to try it out this way, since we can't control the wind.

In this case, what we had in or minds to begin with really didn't turn out. But with the help of the wind, the idea developed into something much prettier. I love how the veil leaves just a tiny bit of Katie's face exposed. We were still able to show off that gorgeous smile and get a beautiful image!

RUSTIC GROOM AND HIS GROOMSMEN

Adam and his groomsman. Don't the they look cool at the Genesee Country Village and Museum.

Sometimes we need to step back and say,"We need to show an image of the guys." Sorry ladies, they need some love and attention too.

This was a great background for the guys. Nice and rustic. Pretty manly. It was the Boot and Shoemaker Shop. We like the guys to feel comfortable and not dread taking photos. We are always looking for great locations that will make them feel this way. Also, we try not to be so posey. There are only so many ways to pose a guy. We always say, "If you are a hand in the pockets kind of guy, stand that way." "Maybe Captain Morgan style." Be yourself and how you normally would stand if you were hanging out. Then we'll take it from there. I think they did just that!

SHOE PORTRAIT!

Here is a lovely image of Katie and her Matron of Honor and also sister.

We had Katie's sister jump in and help her with her amazing shoes. Do we not love her shoes? I really love how this looks too. There was such great light coming in this room. I know there isn't much to say about this image because it is pretty simple. But, it is such a timeless image of Katie and her sister together.

The angle is nice as well. I love that little pop of pink from the chair Katie is sitting on. It pairs so good with her dress and skin tone. Then there is the green from the plant that adds a little more fun to the photo.

And those shoes again! I absolutely love them and they went perfect with Katie's dress. I think I need those!

END OF THE NIGHT FUN!

Frank and Katie got married over the weekend at the Conference and Event Center in Niagara Falls. This was taken at the end of the night.

We bring this photo to you, not from the Events Center, but, from the Sheraton at the Falls Hotel. Since it is right next door, Neal snuck in to check out the Hotel for something fun for pictures. He stumbled upon this in one of the hallways. I think it resembles something you would see in a Las Vegas hotel.

We had Frank and Katie stand in front of the fixture (well let's face it. It's a hallway of balls). Anyways... It looked awesome in the background. Also, if you look really close, you can see reflections in them as well. They were having such a great time. They were laughing and enjoying being together away from their reception for a few minutes. Sometimes, you just need that time to enjoy being newly married without crowds of people around you.

It was a great way to end the night! Congratulations Frank and Katie!

VEIL FUN AT THE HAMILTON HOUSE

Happy Friday the 13th! Neal and I are gearing up or Katie and Frank's wedding this weekend. But I thought I would leave you with one more image from Lindsay and Adam's wedding at Genesee Country Village and Museum.

We showed you an image last week that we took in front of the Hamilton House at night. This is what it looked like during the day and from a different angle. I think it is beautiful! It had a pretty red brick walkway, surrounded by trees, and bushes. And I love the white clouds in the sky too!

Time for some veil fun! We decided to place Lindsay's veil over both her and Adam. We had them join hands and go in for a kiss. This was right before the kiss. We still get some nice detail of Lindsay and Adam through the veil as well. Such a pretty moment in front of a pretty house!

END OF THE NIGHT IN THE GARDENS

Like I mentioned before, Lindsay and Adam had such a great wedding venue at the Genesee Country Village and Museum. This was another image from the end of the night.

This was taken at the Livingston-Backus Garden! Now, I know there aren't any leaves or greenery (and it's dark), but the vines looked so pretty intertwined through the pergola. There were actually fruit tress, wisteria, roses, and iris planted in the area. I can only imagine the colors that are going to pop up soon.

That is one of the reasons we waited to shoot this location at night. We had Lindsay and Adam stand in the pergola and look toward each other. We had a light placed behind them. I was hiding behind one of the pillars lighting their faces, while Neal was shooting down the way.

I love when we end the night with beautiful images. We are always trying to find something creative at the end of the night. We want to make sure it is worth stealing the Bride and Groom from their party really quick. It also gives them a nice break from their guests and to be alone for a short time!

WEDDING PARTY AT GENESEE COUNTRY VILLAGE AND MUSEUM

This was my second favorite place at the Genesee Country Village and Museum for Lindsay and Adams wedding! This was called the Livingston-Backus House (soon to be Danielle Urban's house).

This plantation house reminded me of something from Gone with the Wind. We spent a good deal of time at this part of the Village for photos. We got some great images. I love this image of the bridal party here. We lucked out that there were some benches right in front of the white picket fence. I am a little happy that there weren't leaves on that giant tree yet. I like how you can see all of the house. We wouldn't have complained though, if it were full.

I could not imagine if the Village was open to the public during our photo time. It would have been crawling with people and I do not know if we would have been able to capture something like this.

CHURCH BRIDAL PORTRAIT

This is one of my favorite images of Lindsay and Adam's wedding. Yes, they had an amazing reception venue at the Genesee Country Village and Museum, but their church was pretty cool as well.

Lindsay and Adam exchanged wedding vows at Christ Episcopal Church in Pittsford, NY. Getting around in the church was little confusing at first, but after figuring out the lay of the land, we were really excited for photos!

Here is the lovely Lindsay after their ceremony. She looks stunning. Her dress was gorgeous. So, placing her in this cool backdrop, made the image even better. Look at the size of the organ behind her! Normally, the organ is on a balcony or near the alter. This was great that we could actually use it for a photo. (or a few)

Neal was shooting down the aisle and I was off to the side with some extra fill light. We had Lindsay stand sideways and glance down at her flowers. Boom! (yes I just said boom haha) Love it!

GENESEE COUNTRY VILLAGE AND MUSEUM WEDDING

Congratulations Lindsay and Adam! They got married over the weekend! They had an awesome venue! Their reception was at the Genesee Country Village and Museum. What a cool location. Everyone has probably visited there during their grade school days on a field trip. I know we did!

The Village actually does not open until next week to the public. So, Lindsay and Adam's guests had the run of the entire property. That was great for us as well. We could go anywhere on the grounds and not have to worry about crowds of people being around.

This was taken at the end of the night at the Hamilton House. We loved this Victorian style home. I wish I could live there! For this image, Neal wanted to capture the entire house. That is why Lindsay and Adam are outside of the gate. We added our own lighting hidden behind the bushes to light up the house. I was helping to add some light on their faces. It was chilly out, so Lindsay and Adam got really close and cuddled up for warmth. Perfect!

Now, I wish I could say that this ended the night 100%. Photography wise yes!! Tammy, a lovely staff member was in charge of driving guests on the grounds in a golf cart that night. We had asked her if she could take us out to the Hamilton House for that last shot. As we were getting back into the cart, she got a radio call, that one of the oxen, Dan, had gotten loose. She needed to help round him up. This was a first! We headed over the Dan, and let me just say, he was giant. He had massive pointy horns as well. Now, we are all sitting in a large golf cart that has no sides. Lindsay, Adam, and I were pretty much exposed. Neal was riding up front with Tammy safely behind a plexiglass window.  Tammy was slowly driving at Dan to push him back to his home. It was a little scary.

Then this happened! Dan decided to peek his head into another of the workers cars. Oh no! We had to get a photo! Long story short (too late haha), we needed to get Lindsay and Adam back to their party! We had to leave the herding back to the staff at the Genesse Country Village and Museum.

What a different story to leave with! But, we got to end the night with the beautiful image of Lindsay and Adam!

TOAST BY THE BEST MAN!

Here is an oldie from a few years ago! This is from Natalie and Joe's wedding! They had such a fun wedding party. The Groomsmen were hysterical. Neal and I found ourselves almost crying laughing at times!

This is a shot from the Best Man's speech. I do not remember exactly what he was saying, but I do know that every guest was laughing out loud. Including Neal and I. The rest of the guys couldn't resist and had to video on their phones. I thought it would be pretty funny to get all of them doing this and as you can tell his speech was well documented!

You never know what is going to happen or be said during speeches. Sometimes I feel really bad for the Bride and Groom. There are always some embarrassing moments they wish were not made public. But I guess that's what friends are for. As long as no feelings get hurt.
