BRIDE AND HER FLOWER GIRLS

We bring you another image from Erica and Justin's wedding!

This room was so pretty for Erica to get ready in and for portraits. I love this image because the little flower girls decided to go over to the piano on their own. It was funny because the moms were telling them not to go into the room and stay out of the way. Once we saw where they were heading, we told everyone to let them go and see what happens. They both started to play the piano. All we had to do was pose Erica!

I love when things like this happen. Kids are so unpredictable. Sometimes it works out so great for photos. And most of the time, there are a lot of laughs. In this instance, the flower girls helped to create this timeless image.

HOTEL HENRY WEDDING PORTRAITS

Happy Friday! Today we bring you Chris and Christine outside of Hotel Henry.

Hotel Henry was one of the locations we went to for photos after the ceremony. Even though it was under construction, we still got some amazing images! We made sure to shoot angles that would not show any of the construction site. And I think we nailed it!

Just look at this photo! You would never know work was being done right behind Chris and Christine. We were so happy they wanted to go to this location. We got to capture this beautiful couple, and incorporate amazing Buffalo architecture.

BRIDAL WEDDING PORTRAIT AT BARTON HILL

Here is Christine at the Barton Hill Hotel and Spa! Gorgeous!

Christine and her ladies got ready at the Barton. They had a beautiful room. We asked the ladies to clear out for a few minutes, to have the entire room. After moving around some furniture, it was time for portraits of Christine. The entire mood changes when we get the Bride alone right before the ceremony. Neal turns off the lights, studies the room, the light coming in and then photographs the Bride. This photo one of our favorites.

Christine looks stunning here! Her style of dress and pose were perfect for this shot. She was framed beautifully within the doors. I even like the bits of old fashioned furniture still showing in the image.

What a great way to start off the wedding day!

BUFFALO LIGHTHOUSE BRIDE & GROOM

Today, we are at the Buffalo Lighthouse with Chris and Christine!

After taking photos at Hotel Henry with the bridal party, we made a quick stop at the Buffalo Lighthouse before heading to Hotel at the Lafayette for the reception. Because this was a fast stop, we only had Chris and Christine jump out of the limo for this.

We had such a beautiful day too! The weather was great and the clouds were perfect. We took a bunch of different angles using the Lighthouse. This was our favorite! Yes, Chris and Christine are small in the image, but we went for a more artistic style for this. I love it!

LIGHTS, CAMERAS, PAPARAZZI!!

Happy Halloween! Hope everyone had a safe and fun weekend! Today we bring you this fun image from Chris and Christine's wedding at Hotel at the Lafayette!

How cool is this? We always love to come up with creative images with the wedding party. Neal has had this idea for a while, but we needed the perfect wedding party to make it happen. Everyone was so nice and helpful throughout the whole day. Early in the day we told the wedding party we had an idea for later in the night and that they needed their phones. Everyone was all for it.

It was time to create a red carpet feel with Chris and Christine. We had the wedding party join us outside and bring their phones. Time to flip on those flash lights and put the lovely newlyweds in the spotlight. The wedding party was amazing! They were yelling and cheering. Some were even singing! All Chris and Christine had to do was hang out in the middle and focus on each other!

I wish I could say this was a super easy shot. It was and it wasn't. Did I mention it was pouring outside? That left Neal, our lovely helper Vanessa (you all know Vanessa from the Disney Castle photo. Her hubby was a groomsman), and I out in the rain under umbrellas. Keeping the gear from getting soaked was a must. Some of the lights were covered by plastic bags we borrowed from the candy station! The wind didn't help much with that either. It looks like this image was lit by all of the phones but it was really lit by three of our lights. Thankfully, everyone was very cooperative for this image. Once we got the shot it was hard to tell them to go back inside! We reminded them that they had a dancefloor to fill back up and they were back to partying hard for the rest of the night!

Chris and Christine looked movie rock stars just like their engagement shoot and will sign autographs if you see them!

There's something you don't see everyday

I am sorry, but yes, this is another image from Jaclyn and Darryl's wedding at Sandals Grande Antigua Resort and Spa. I had to do it! This is the image I was referring to when you recently saw the boat image and I said check back in.

Here, you can see the local children in the ocean. What a joy it was to have these little ones be a part of this image. While their parents were fishing, they were splashing around and having such a great time. They were even talking to Jaclyn and Darryl as we were taking the photos. I just wanted to dive in and play in the water with them.

This is something these children do not see everyday. Wedding customs are different all over. So, keeping them in this photo, just added to the excitement. As for Jaclyn and Darryl, we didn't need to do much except add some light to them. Darryl picked up his lovely wife all on his own!

Birds of Paradise!

Ok..So, we are blowing up the blog with images from Jaclyn and Darryl's wedding at the Lockport Locks and Sandals Grande Antigua Resort and Spa. I apologize, but when we do "events" like this, there are so many different stories to tell. We experienced something new everyday with Jaclyn and Darryl. And I must say, this was a little different!

Back to Sandals Grande Resort and Spa! While scoping out the Resort when we first arrived, We saw these parrots. I knew what Neal was thinking. I said "Neal, I do not think they will let you take out the parrots for Jaclyn to hold." His reply, "You don't think so?"  Unfortunately, we were not allowed to have them out of the cage.

That didn't mean we still couldn't use them in a shot! They were set up in a great place too. The winding staircase was perfect for Jaclyn and her gorgeous dress. Then we had her look toward the cage. I won't lie, we did talk to the parrots trying to get them to look at Jaclyn. And yes, some crazy things were said! We had luck with one! There were definitely a lot of laughs of this shot.

SHIPS AHOY!!!

So after walking down the beach and seeing a phone booth, there was an old boat washed up on the beach. Another amazing photo opp for Jaclyn and Darryl near Sandals Grande Antigua Resort & Spa!

How cool is this?! We have photographed weddings at many different beaches and this was the first time we had the opportunity to shoot with an old boat. We took advantage too and tried to take all different angles with Jaclyn and Darryl.

A great story behind this image was the local families. There were a bunch of families in the water fishing and collecting some kind of seaweed. They were hard at work and we did not want to disturb them. But they were so excited for us to be there. They had prime seating for photo watching! The little kids were amazing too. They were splashing around and so happy when they saw Jaclyn in her dress. This image does not show the kids, but stay tuned in the next few days to see that angle!

We decided to go for a nice romantic pose here. Once again, we placed Jaclyn and Darryl where we needed them to be and the took it from there!

LOCKPORT LOCKS WEDDING

We now take you to the beginning of Jaclyn and Darryl's wedding timeline!

They had their actual ceremony and reception at the Lockport Locks in Tonawanda. We began their wedding story that day with family and friend! Then headed off to Antigua to continue their wedding journey.

This was taken after Jaclyn and Darryl's ceremony. I am not even sure what this building is. It was across the street from the Locks. But a great brick wall covered in ivy. What a great spot for a quick photo.

We switched up a few different poses for this location. We had about 5 minutes left before intros were about to begin. Jaclyn and Darryl had such an amazing connection. It always felt like they were in their own world and didn't even realize we were taking photos. Just beautiful!

ANTIGUA WEDDING PORTRAITS

Today we bring you an amazing image from Jaclyn and Darryl's wedding!

Jaclyn and Darryl had a 2 part wedding. They were married here at the Lockport Locks and had an amazing reception. Then it was off to Antigua for their wedding photo shoot! Yes, we had the honor of going to the Sandals Grande Antigua Resort and Spa for Jaclyn and Darryl's photos! We had the pleasure of documenting this fun couples trip. From casual outfits, bathing suits, and dinner attire, to getting all dolled up for the wedding dress and suit!

This was so much fun! It started out like any normal wedding day for us. I was with Jaclyn for hair and makeup, while Neal was with Darryl for his getting ready. Once Jaclyn was all done, we walked back to the room for her to get ready. We then did a first look! You may be thinking, they are already married. Why a first look? Well, we wanted it to feel like the wedding day all over again so that their album can flow to tell a story. Without a first look then their album would go from their wedding reception and jump to portraits in Antigua. Now we've created new moments so it tells a story of their entire wedding story! And it was amazing! Once they did a first look then it was off to shoot all over the area for sunset.

Thank you to some staff at the Resort, we were pointed in this direction. An old telephone booth down the beach! How crazy is that? What an odd place for a booth. It wasn't just a regular phone booth either, it was like a red one that you see in Europe! Perfect for wedding photos! And Jaclyn and Darryl were up for anything crazy and out of the box. Right up Neal's alley!

Look how much fun this is! With the assistance of Darryl on this, we had him hold a light inside of the phone booth. From there, we added some light on their faces (we actually did some without the addition of light to their faces too). And here you go! This is one favorite (so far)!
