April snow showers bring....?

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.  I'm watching the snow fall and it's April 17th!  I remember this day last year I was shooting a wedding.  It was cold and rainy but definitely didn't snow!  I can't wait for the weather to get warm and stay warm!

Todays photo is of Janelle & Scott inside the Rotunda of an old Knox mansion in Buffalo, New York.

A wedding party for wedding vendors

Last night was the Buffalo Wedding Magazine 10 Year Anniversary Gala at Pearl Street Grill in downtown Buffalo!  It was a great time to catch up with other vendors we work with throughout the year.  It was also great to meet so many new people that I only know through the online world!

I want to thank Buffalo Wedding Magazine for inviting us.  It's a great community and a great group of people that welcomed us in with open arms!

For all of my new friends visiting here for the first time, welcome to my blog!  This is where I post a new photo every day.

Todays photo is of Lisa from a wedding last September.  She got tangled in her own veil while running around in the street.  The wind kicked up and gave us a nice shot.

A house isn't a home until you have a dog

This is one of new favorite photos!  It's from April and John's engagement shoot a couple days ago.  It was cold and rainy outside so we started the shoot inside of their house.

This is their Boxer named Cassius (Cash for short).   I'm a huge dog lover.  Cash wasn't too sure about me at first.  He finally started to accept my company after I fed him 10-12 treats.  He's an amazing looking boxer so I just had to include him in a photo!

John is the owner of Amherst Ale House.  It's a great sports bar with great pizza (The best in my opinion), award winning wings, a HUGE beer list, fast & friendly service and flat screen TV's everywhere!  We just got home from watching the Sabres game.  We highly recommend it!

Go Sabres!!

I had a great engagement photo shoot yesterday and probably took a shot that's one of my new favorites!  I was going to post it today but I am going to wait until tomorrow.  Sorry, you'll have to wait one more day!

The Buffalo Sabres are in the playoffs and play game 1 tonight.  I had to post something Sabres related!

32 person wedding parties aren't the easiest to shoot.  It's nearly impossible to get artistic with that many people and have every person visible in each photo.  So what do you do with 16 guys who are all Sabres fans???

The Interview!

I was interviewed today by Michelle Perkins who is a talented writer for Rangefinder Magazine!  The article will be published in their wedding issue that will be released in December.

We talked about how I got into the field, my future goals, shooting in Buffalo/destination, as well as my shooting and editing techniques.  It should be a good read.

It will be an honor to be published in a NATIONAL magazine!

Todays photo is a photo of an abandoned gas station here in Buffalo, NY.  The Bride wanted a location completely outside of the box.  I shot a band here a few years ago and chose the same location for her.  Everything was going fine until the owner came out of nowhere and tried to scare us off with trespassing threats.  The groom and the groomsmen all returned from the war in Afghanistan and Iraq so we were well protected from any threats!  We got some great photos along with a great story!

Me, myself and imac

Another quick post today.  Just another office/computer day that's not worth blogging about.  I do have some exciting news but I will have to wait to announce it!!

Todays photo is from an engagement shoot we took last summer during the Erie County Fair.  This was a fun one.  Katie and Chad were a pleasure to work with and I can't wait to shoot their wedding in July!

A lazy sunday

Sorry this post is so late in the day.  We got to spend some time with family this weekend.  Felt great to relax.  My health and injuries appear to be back at 100%.  I'll be back at the computer tomorrow and this week to catch up on everything.  Hope everybody enjoyed their weekend!

Todays photo is a shot I took in Oklahoma from my trip across country.

Life is good!

We people here in Western New York love our Buffalo Sabres hockey team and last night they clinched a playoff spot!!!  I know some people celebrated the victory as if we took home the Stanley Cup.  As far as sports goes, we don't have much to celebrate so we like to take advantage of every opportunity we can get!

Another thing we New Yorkers like to do is party at weddings!  Photo of the day shows just that.  I've seen some crazy wedding receptions but this one is still in the top 3!  The reception hall was at Bond's Lake in Sanborn, NY.  Wedding date was June 20, 2009.  It was the first time I worked with "DJ Q" - he had the party going like this from sunset to the early morning hours.  I believe I didn't get home until 2am.  When the party is going like this, it would be a crime for me to pack up and leave!  The family and guests of this wedding were also amazing and treated like family.  Weddings like this don't feel like work and leave me talking about them for years!

It's Friday!

Hope everyone had a good week.  The weekend is here!  We only have a couple weekends left and we're going to try and squeeze in as much family and friend time as we can!  My eyes are still strained and bothering me so taking time away from the computer is a must.  Don't worry everyone, my left eye is the one that hurts and my right eye is my shooting eye :)

Todays photo is of my cousin, Rachel and her husband, Josh.  This was taken on their post wedding fashion shoot which was more casual.  She let her hair down, he loosened up his shirt, I made them roll around on the ground.  Fun stuff!
