I SEE YOU!

We showed you a dramatic photo of Stephanie and Michael at Old Fort Niagara earlier in the week. Well, we definitely needed to show you a fun one as well!

There is nothing like looking at your just married spouse through a view finder! Too bad none of us had quarters so they could actually see one another. All they could see was black. But that didn’t stop them from having fun with it.

Not all of our photos are crazy, artistic or dramatic. We do like to have fun with our couples. This is a prime example of all of us just having a great time.

A BRIDE AND HER HORSE

Earlier in the week, we showed you a fun image of Mike in a dance line, “Rockin the Boat,” at Salvatore’s Italian Gardens. Now we take you to his amazing wife Kristen.

Kristen and Mike had their photos taken at a private family residence. I bet you can guess what kind! There were a ton of horses and the grounds were so pretty. Kristen was going to take one of the beautiful horses for a leisurely stroll!

It was a bright and sunny day and the light was reflecting off the giant pond. Neal had Kristen walk behind the pond to get her reflection. This was more of a bonus. We really didn’t need to have it in the picture, but it made it more magical.

Good thing Kristen grew up around horses too! She did a great job and was so calm. I love how Kristen was completely up for doing this in her wedding dress. We were so happy to capture her in a place that meant so much to her.

JOHNATHAN, NICK, AND MOOSE

Oh, I do love photos with dogs. And Moose was so cute and a gentle giant.

Johnathan and Nick were married in September of 2011. We did their photos around Bidwell Park and the Elmwood Village. We had to make sure the location was dog friendly and what better area than Elmwood Village!

Moose just wanted to play. And how could we resist. It was time to get him moving and in action. We had Johnathan and Nick pretty much take him for a walk down the street. Well, Moose actually took them for a walk! We asked them to stop and look at each other. It was funny because Moose kept walking and had to come to an abrupt halt when his leash couldn’t go any further. He looked right at Neal and I with a look of “Really, why are we stopped.”

OOPS, I STABBED MY FATHER WITH A NEEDLE!

And that is exactly what happened in this photo!

Diana and Scott were also married in August of 2011. We told Diana we wanted to get a photo of her putting a boutonniere on her father. She only needed to pretend, but she wanted to go for it. It wasn’t working out so well. But Diana and her father were laughing and joking. Dad decided he was going to help out a little. Sure enough, right when he put his hand in to help, Diana pricked him with the needle. Her reaction was exactly as you see in the image. And yes dad’s finger started to bleed.

This was just so funny. Diana felt really bad and it was a running joke the entire wedding day!

ALONE IN THE OLD FORT

Stephanie and Michael had a beautiful wedding in August of 2011. We went to Old Fort Niagara for their photos.

We shoot there often, so we always try to find a new place to use or shoot from a different angle. This wall did have two wooden benches in front. We decided to pull one aside. Now, Neal had a blank canvas with one lonely bench.

We had Stephanie and Michael have a seat. Stephanie laid right into Michael’s arms. It looked so good. We wanted to make them feel as though they were the only two people in the Fort. I think it worked!

A WORK OF ART

This is one my absolute favorite images from Danielle and Paul’s wedding back in August of 2011.

We went Niagara University for photos. We began to shoot outside of the Castellani Art Museum. Neal peaked into the window and said he wanted to take Danielle and Paul inside. Neal had to sweet talk the lady at the reception area. They do not allow weddings to be photographed inside. Neal told her his idea and we got in!

Every time I see this image, I feel like it was a moment frozen in time. I love how Danielle has her arm on Paul’s shoulder and he is continuing to look straight ahead. It is both dramatic and beautiful, like the art on the walls!

OLD FORT NIAGARA BRIDE AND GROOM

Jennifer and Jay got married in June of 2011!

We went to Old Fort Niagara for their photos. They had a giant wedding party, so we worked with the party first, right in the entry of the Fort and then took Jennifer and Jay in. We only like to bring the bride and groom in because it is open to the public and tours are usually going on. We still like to be respectful of the tourists and grounds.

This close up of Jennifer and Jay is so cute! Jay went in and whispered something in her ear. I wonder what it was? What ever it was sure made Jennifer have a giant smile and the image turned out beautiful!

BRIDAL PORTRAIT

This is such a beautiful bridal portrait of Jaclyn. She and Jesse got married in May of 2011.

Jaclyn got ready at her parents house. The room was pretty small, so we asked all the bridesmaids to clear out so we could do some solo portraits of Jaclyn. Neal did not want a bunch of light coming in, so we turned all the lights off and shut all of the drapes. He only wanted a soft glow behind Jaclyn. I held lighting behind her to create that glow.

This is different because Jaclyn was placed all the way to right in this image. Neal wanted that very faint pop of color from the drapes in the photo. I really like how he did this. The lighting behind Jaclyn helps to keep Jaclyn the main focal point.

COUNTRY WEDDING PORTRAT

Melanie and Rich had a beautiful spring day for their wedding in May of 2011. The temperature was mild and the skies were so pretty.

They wanted their wedding portraits done in the middle of the fields with a slight farm and country feel. Their ceremony location was at St. Cecilia's Church in Sheldon, NY. Neal and I decided to take a drive that week to scout the church and scout the surrounding area to find what they were looking for. Their reception was at Pearl Street in Buffalo, so we tried to find something heading toward Buffalo.

We found some back roads that you could see windmills and gently rolling farm hills. There were bright wild flowers and the trees were nice and green. It was perfect! Melanie and Rich loved the idea when I spoke with them prior to the big day.

This image had a little of everything they wanted! The colors are nice and bold! I even like the dirt path they were standing on. It made it a lot easier for them to walk around too! The windmills in the back were lined up perfectly. And the clouds were awesome. I love how there were white puffy clouds and then wispy clouds too. It was such a pretty location!

We were on someone's private property. Luckily there was a woman outside to ask if she minded if we took some wedding photos there. She was more than delighted to let us! I think we would have went for it anyway!

FATHER DAUGHTER FIRST LOOK

This was such a great father daughter first look!

Jamie and Nick were married in July of 2011. Jamie got ready at her parents house. We had dad wait at the bottom of the stairs for Jamie to come down. Neal loved the mirror to the left and had dad stand where he could capture his reflection as well.

I also love how mom and the bridesmaids are in the background awaiting Jamie's entrance. Even though this was set up for dad, everyone got to be a part of the excitement!
