Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum Wedding

Hi All! Neal here! I'm taking over the blog today because I'm going to talk about a wedding I recently shot at Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum. Danielle wasn't there because she had her own wedding so I get to talk about this beautiful image of Michaela & Aaron.
Shortly after their ceremony we did the family portraits outside of the Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum. The side of the building was in the shade so we everyone got to stand in the shade while we did family portraits. It was a hot day so the shade was a relief. We had a slight breeze so doing the portraits outdoors was a lot better than doing them inside where it lacked air conditioning.
The side of the building had a beautiful greenery taking over the building, it added a nice texture to the images. The lighting was so nice that we continued shooting after the family portraits. We were supposed to leave right away for the locations but I can't not take advantage of a good backdrop and good lighting! I always tell our clients that I'm all about quality over quantity. I'd hate to leave a location when we're capturing high quality images just to leave for another location where the lighting and scenery may not be as good. Lucky for us, we found good lighting as we traveled down the road to Kleinhans Music Hall for portraits with the girls and then down to Silo City to get some cool industrial shots for the guys.
This image looks beautiful in color, the greenery really stands out, but it stood out a little too much, it was kind of distracting and took attention away from the couple. When I turned this image to black and white I turned down the yellow and green channels and that made the Bride and Groom jump out of the image! The B&W really brings out the emotion between Michaela & Aaron and gives it more of a timeless look don't you think?
