The last steps with the father of the Bride
Neal here again for the second day in a row with some news along with a beautiful photo! As promised we are going to keep posting a new photo along with the story behind the image everyday, however, now that we're entering wedding season we are going to take Saturday's and Sunday's off from blogging. Our weekends are just too busy! During the week we have hundreds of visitors and on the weekend we barely receive much traffic so it's a smart decision until the season is over. Be sure to visit us during the week because we'll have some brand spankin' new work to show!!
Today's image is from Allison & Daniel's wedding as Allison takes a couple last steps with her dad.
What I really like about this image is my lens choice. I harldy ever shoot wide at this point of the wedding. I'm always shooting with my 70-200mm zoomed in on the bride and her dad catching the emotion. In this room at The Columns I barely had room to stand let alone shoot with a 70-200mm. Keep in mind that I had the bridemaids standing behind me and the mother of the bride in front of me to my right. I didn't want to stand in anyone's way so I chose to shoot with a wide angle lens.
What I love here is that not only did I catch the emotion between Allison & her dad but I also captured what the two mothers were doing as well as all of the other guests reactions to the moment. At first I was disappointed that I'd have to shoot with a wide angle here but it actually worked out a lot better than I imagined!
Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!
