AND THEY'RE OFF..... Kentucky Derby Day!
Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 8:00AM It's Kentucky Derby Day! Time to bet the ponies! Get out your fancy hats and make yourself some mint juleps! In honor of the Derby, it is most appropriate to show an image with a horse in it.
This image was taken by Neal from a weding back in 2009! This image was one of Neal's iconic images back in the day. The image was used in all of our marketing material, websites and a large print hung in the studio. Six years later and it's still timeless!
This was before I started with Neal. As you can see it was a beautiful day for a wedding. The Bride and Groom chose to go to a private farm with stables for their photos. Well, it's amost a given that if there are horses on the premises, Neal had to take advantage of it. It started with wedding party photos against the fence. The horses were a bit scared because there were too many people hanging out.
Neal, finished up working with the party and decided to have a go with just the Bride to see what happened. He had her pose against the fence. She looked great as is. Neal asked her to raise up her flowers a bit. Then the horse slowly started making his way over to the Bride. He must have smelled the flowers! Neal told the Bride to look away from the horse and try not to pay attention. The horse started getting really close and you could tell he wanted to eat the Bride's bouquet! Neal pushed it as far as he could to have the horse get closer. He got what he needed and had the Bride lower her flowers and slowly walk away, so the horse didn't get scared. It really turned into a beautiful image!
