One off the Bucket List

Sorry about the lack of blog postings.  (If you want to see more random photo postings be sure to add me on Facebook).  We got a little break in our schedule and we headed up to Maine.  It's always great to put down the technology and escape away from it all for a couple days to rejuvenate.  We always choose Maine as our destination because it's very relaxing up there.  The air is fresh, the people are nice, life is calm and our cell phones don't work!

Acadia National Park, Maine has always been a place I've wanted to photograph but never been.  I never realized how close the park was to where we stay.

Danielle and I got engaged in Maine last June.  For the last year she keeps telling me that she wants a "Neal Urban" style of engagement shoot.  I thought it would be impossible but I'm always up for a challenge...  Some engagement shots of us are coming soon so stay tuned!

Destinations R Us

Last night I shot Sarina and Dave for their engagement shoot.  Days leading up to their shoot Sarina was really confused on where to have their shoot.  They spent their memorial day driving around to locations all over Western New York!  Usually that's my job!  I love getting in my car and driving around searching for unique locations.  I do this because my clients don't see what I see and I want their images to stand out from everyone else's.  But I told them not to worry.  All I need is a couple in love with good lighting and the locations simply become backdrops.

Sarina and Dave chose Fort Niagara, New York as their engagement destination.  A lot of my clients have been requesting this location ever since I posted this blog post!

It was a pleasure working with Sarina and Dave and I look forward to their wedding!  During the photo shoot Sarina & Dave mentioned that all they want to do is to make my website.  So here you go!  Here are a couple of my favorites...

(PS. Sorry for the different sized images, I was testing something.)

Forever Grateful

Yesterday I was having a kick ass photo shoot.  I was working with two amazing clients who are terribly good looking, out going and funny!  The sun was setting and I was working my magic.  And then all of a sudden my camera stops working.  A photographers nightmare!

I do have a back up camera but it's no where near as good as my main camera (Nikon D3).  We rushed the camera to the camera store and a couple other professional photographers to take a look at it.  We couldn't get it to work.  I hopped online to order and expedited a brand new Nikon D3s!  I will be sending the D3 into Nikon to get it fixed and that will be my new back up.

It's prime wedding season and I can't rely on using a back up camera.  A fellow professional photographer also uses the D3 and was ever so kind to offer his camera just in case my new D3s doesn't arrive in time for this weekends (Friday & Saturday) wedding.  I'm so grateful to be surrounded by caring professional photographers who are willing to do almost anything for me!!!!

Without further adieu, here is one of the last shots I took with my camera of Gina & Zack.

Blogged down

Hey everyone!  I know I promised to post a new photo everyday but I've been pulling all-nighters trying to get caught up with work so I can concentrate on nothing but weddings this season.  I'm finishing up some personal photo shoots that I squeezed in before the season started.

I'll be shooting a wedding at some amazing locations this weekend.  I'm really looking forward to it!  I hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

Here's a photo from Letchworth State Park in the Fall.  The best time of the year!

Shadow People

Yesterday I had the pleasure to work with Rev Tim Shaw of The Black Cat Lounge Radio Hour.  You can check him out at http://www.para-x.com/

We shot at the Buffalo Central Terminal and he showed me where he saw his first shadow figure.  That was all the information I needed for inspiration for his photos!

Back to my roots

I love it when I take an image and it doesn't need any post processing.  To capture an emotional moment in great lighting is all it takes!

This is Katie & Jeff dancing to one of the last songs of the night.  They partied so hard that some of Jeff's clothes came off.  It was one hell of a party that belongs in my top 3 favorites!  Thank you both for being so kind.

A nice little surprise

Saturdays wedding was full of surprises.  One surprise to me was that a photo of mine was posted on two large displays during the reception in front of 400+ guests!  I had countless number of guests complimenting me.  It was a very humbling experience!
